Granted Trumbo is having a great first half, he had a great first half with us in 2012. The year he was an All Star. he hit 306/.358/.608/.965 with 22 HR in the first half. In the second half though he slipped to .227/.271/.359/.630. True he plays the corner OF positions, but not very well though.
This year Trumbo is leading the world in HR but it's still the first half but as far as Cron being the next Trumbo remember Cron is 4 years younger than Trumbo and Mark hasn't been all that, since leaving the Angels. In fact this is his best year since leaving.

Pujols is slow afoot and overpaid with a contract that is for too many years, but throw out April and he isn't that terrible. He is hitting well over .300 that last couple of weeks and is on pace for 30+ HR and 100+ RBI.

If the internet was around 100 years ago, some of the greatest names in baseball may not have lived up to your standards. I think you brought up Hamilton's cheating on his wife. I can't name names but I am sure that is not an uncommon occurrence among pro athletes today and in the days before social media.
As far as drugs go, as little as 20 to 30 years ago amphetamines were given to players like candy before and even during games to build up their endurance. I am fairly certain that the greatest player the game has ever known Babe Ruth would drink to excess regularly, and I fairly certain he wasn't always a faithful husband either.
If you look closely at players you will skeletons in a lot of closets. You hear about them more today because of the press and the internet.

I really think Marte is being overrated by some on this board. his defense is suspect and if we trade Escobar, why would we move Marte to third, when Cowart plays third with a gold glove type defense and has been hitting well for the second straight year in AAA.
Last year, when he was called to replace Freese he was 0-13 until he got his first hit a GR. After that hit and until Freese's return he hit .300+. If Cowart gets regular AB he will be fine and playing great defense at the same time.

Can we please put Cowart @ 3rd & leave him there!

I wouldn't be in a rush to discard Cowart as the everyday third basemen. He is proving that last years resurgence wasn't a fluke. The Register just ran an article on Cowart. He sounds confident he has figured out how to hit once again. Even if he hits .270 with 10 HRs a year to go along with his stellar defense it should be good enough to keep him on the field in an Angels uniform for years to come.

I hope you're wrong, as I think it's possible we have a rebound season next year.

obviously not this year and not without Arte spending money on Impact players that were available last off season, but Arte missed the boat (yacht) so it is only a dream of what could have been.

I am glad we didn't sign Cespedes .290/.362/.584/.946/18 HR/44 RBI. I was wanting him ever since the World Series. I mean he didn't cost a draft pick or anything.
