Yes! Nailed it. Jackie Robinson was receiving death threats and Hermanski thought all the players should wear #42 so a sniper wouldn’t know who to shoot.
But why was this photo taken?
They turned a triple play 7-4-3.

I hate to disagree with the Oracle, but I think the other guy is Gene Hermanski. His idea was that all his teammates should wear 42.

It was written as a response to a couple of Neil Young songs, as evidenced in the lyrics.
Look at Lou, busting out the southern rock knowledge. The two songs were Southern Man and appropriately one called Alabama.

It still pisses me off that people know WilBrim for diabetes and not Blair.
The thing is, I know him best as Pop Fisher.

I think the biggest thing is that the Astros title will always be tainted and no one will ever take it seriously ever again. It’s basically Bonds home run title. Same shit different stink.
The Astros have become a joke again and it’s amazing. No one will ever take that shitty franchise serious again. They’ll just be known as that team who BY FAR had the best team in 2017 and still had to cheat to win it all. How sad is that?

This man was a World Series hero for about 15 minutes. He passed away today at the age of 89.
His namesake played in a popular American sitcom in the 1960's.
Easy one,Hal Smith 3 run HR in the 8th to tie game 7 up.Bill Mazeroski would homer in the bottom of the ninth to win it.Otis Campbell was played by Hal Smith on the Andy Griffith show.

Just a question. Why wasn’t 31 year old Austin Romine ever considered? Better hitter, cheaper and younger. smh
You mean the Austin Romine that has an OPS+ of 73 for his career, versus Castro's 93. I think maybe you mean because he has a better OBP, no that can't be it, his is.647 and Castro's is .703.Maybe you just mean the last two years of OPS+ for Romine since those years were the first time it was over 71, a 93 and a 97.Castro had 93 and 101,so at least closer.Cheaper and younger I will give you but a better hitter I don't think so. I'm not saying that Castro is a great hitter but he has been a lot better than Romine for what it's worth. You don't know that they didn't consider him, maybe they preferred Castro all along, with him being a left-handed bat.

I’m able to separate baseball from real life believe it or not. I’m fine.
That's got to be one of the funniest things I have ever read.

Remember when everyone told me I was wrong when I said he’d get more money than the Angels owed him?
This is a two year deal, $6 million in 2020 and $8 million in 2021.The Angels had to pay him $14 million for 1 year, so this new deal is for less.
