@Tank has never seen the best baseball movie ever, The Sandlot.
The Sandlot is a great movie, but I can think of at least one that is better.

Then why wasnt the entire amount for 2019 on that page Mark? You saw the photo I posted from spotrac correct? I went by that. I'm on my phone not my laptop.
Actually, I dga$ he is taking Cahill's $ and spot and if/when he doesn't cut it either. You all can say well, we knew he wasnt the guy we wanted.
Eppler has placed a dollar figure on each portion of the roster. SP's, everyday lineup, bullpen and bench. The next pitcher they sign will take on the money that he threw at Harvey last year which was what? 11M. As he added Bundy who basically takes Cozarts payroll spot from the bench and increases the starting rotation dollar figure.
We were only going to go above 20M in starting pitcher payroll for Cole and Strasburg which we didnt get either.
Quit calling me Mark. That picture is wrong.Go to the career cash earnings on that spotrac site and look at it.They list 2 salaries for 2019 $11.1 and 1 million, the $11.1 is his 2019 salary, the $1 is the buyout of his 2020 12 million option.the Braves paid $11.1 in 2019.He cannot have 2 salaries for 2019.

So, we gave Cahill's Dinero to Teheran!!!
So, does that mean Clay Buchholz is going to get Harvey's?...
Great signing! Too much for someone who was an Arb cut! We gave a dude who was cut an 8M raise over last year! Screams overpay.
You said this, the Angels did not give him a $8 million raise from last year they actually cut his pay by $2 million

Understand that! He still isnt receiving his 12M from the Braves! They cut him. So, for the year between their buyout and our contract he gains 10M of which 9M comes from us...which is still a high raise from the 1M the Braves gave him to leave!
Which for the money 9M was the same we paid Cahill last year.
It's almost like a salary spot. Whoever will accept 9M we will throw it at them!
Still wrong they paid him $11.1 in 2019, his salary for 2020 was going to be $12 million. They declined that and paid the $1 million. This just like the Kole Calhoun contract.

You're slipping Slappy, Teheran made 11.1 million last year and he wasn't an arb cut.He had a 12 million option which the Braves declined and bought him out for 1 million.

He’s won his 2 Cy Young’s over the last decade. He was obviously a good pitcher as recently as 2018. A lot can change when older guys get injured. Why do you guys think the Angels need to over pay take on fairly expensive players with substantial risk. There are other options. Forget about this.
He won them within the last 6 years, not 10 years, which is a decade.

imagining alternate dimension that Angels get Kluber. He goes out for year on May 17th. Many brains explode on AW. AO needs to put in a straight jacket. Dark shit.
That can happen to any pitcher in baseball.

By last year, you mean two seasons ago.
Last year he missed most of the year with injuries and his performance when healthy was generally not good.

I love it when people reference the Cy young awards. Yes. Over the course of the last decade Kluber has been a great pitcher. You got me.
I didn't say decade ,I said 5 years so if the last 5 years have no meaning I don't know what to tell you.

Oh christ. Verlander didn’t have all the injuries. That’s the problem here. Not the same at all.
You keep saying all these injuries, the fact is he had a fractured arm and then a strained oblique last year. The previous 5 seasons he averaged 217 innings and a 2.84 ERA, with 2 Cy Young awards.

I'm fine with the Rangers acquiring Keebler Elf. To me, there were just too many questions about him. The freak injury, is the minor part of it. But then the forearm injury during his rehab. Which if he was on the Angels, a forearm injury most surely means upcoming TJ surgery. But also before his freak injury, he really wasn't pitching well before it. 33, and out of the gate when pitchers should have the advantage, goes 7 GS, 5.80 ERA, 1.654 WHIP.
Don't get me wrong. He could go back to form and go back to his other numbers. But something tells me he might have just Weavered, or Angel Medical Staffed.
It wasn't a forearm injury, it was a strained oblique.
