  1. Two months ago, Mike Johnson and Republicans shoot down the bill for funding Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan that had a hefty price tag of tens of billions of dollars and border security of $20 billion.

Fast forward to a few days ago and Mike Johnston passes a bill to Israel, Ukraine and others but with no border security funding that I’m aware of.

    Am I missing something?

the coyotes have applied for copyright on five names for the new team in salt lake.

among the five are Salt Lake Venom, Salt Lake Hockey Club, and Salt Lake HC. Hard to contain my excitement over these choices.

As a Kings fan living in Utah, I’m willing to adopt them as my second team. But any good vibes I had were kind of killed by this. I’m hoping there is more to the story and these names aren’t serious.

“It will 100 percent be ‘Utah,’ and then it will be ‘Utah Something,’ obviously,” Smith told NHL.com. “I don’t think given this timeline that we’re going to have time — or nor should we rush with everything else that’s going on — to go force what that is in the next three months.”

  3. I don't think anyone, including Iran, has the stomach to go to war. In their mind they had to retaliate against Israel to save face for when their consulate got bombed by them and to show their people they did something. But they knew none of their missiles were going to get through and do anything to cause casualties. Hence why they gave a week's notice of what they would be doing.

So now it is back to square one for the time being. They are just threatening Israel if they retaliate. Wash, rinse and repeat.

Remember, it’s only bad when Trump does it.

Of all the things Biden overturned, I'm not sure why tariffs weren't one of them. But Biden is doubling down and Trump has promised more. Not a big fan.

Good stuff from VinRBI to compile all that, though I’m not sure I want to watch 24 mins of video presumably filled with plenty of frustration.

I'm about 5 minutes in and there have been plenty of weak ground outs, fly outs to end the game, some walks, singles (infield, doinks, solid contact). Had a game tying homerun.

If he got on base via a hit and there was a man on base already, he didn't score. Which I am okay with since he didn't produce an out and extended the inning. The only frustrating part was the announcer would then make the comment "...and that will bring up Pujols." That didn't inspire a lot of confidence.

Glad Inside Pitch could provide some much needed perspective.

  6. I know Trout has had some clutch moments in his career. But for all the shit people give the Angels for wasting Trout’s prime with only one post season appearance, you have to recognize Trout holds some of that responsibility himself. I don’t blame him for being injured the last few years.

But you have the go ahead runner in scoring position, you have to come through. No one can blame the Angels for Trout striking out. That’s who anyone would want up in that situation and he fails to come through.

    Frustrating.

Of course there's gonna be blowback after the overturning. But it'll eventually quiet down, and that'll be that.

So up until Roe, Arizona had a 100 year old law that stood the test of time? Ok. Sounds like it was working as intended. I don't get why the age of a law matters. I'm pretty sure the law against murder is older than that.

And here is the forever old debate.

    "Abortion is healthcare"

    "My body my choice"

    "Abortion is murder"

"Let people do whatever they want"

No one is going to convince anyone else at this point to re-consider their view on it. A large part of society thinks its fine, another large part thinks its so immoral to the point of criminality.

Round and round we go. Unless the constitution changes on this subject, nothing will happen federally.

Yep so if you were raped and lived in Arizona you couldn't get an abortion before Roe. So you are right, it was working like it was intended with a world view of 1864.

Joe is fucking crazy if he thinks he’ll be able to rally public support for a conflict with Iran.  All these evil fucks have wanted it for so long.  Here we are again on the edge of it.  Israel started it.  It’s not the American tax payers problem to bail them out.  It’s not American soldiers responsibility to die for the Israeli states psychotic irresponsibly.  Bombing the Iranian embassy in Damascus was an insane provocation that the Israelis expect the US to guard them against retaliation.  If the Iranians retaliate - as any person would brain should expect - it’s time for them to deal with it themselves.  If Joe Biden gets the US into another major war over this he’s fucking cooked.  No person - left, right, center - whatever of good conscience should abide this insanity.

    I agree.

Biden was allegedly skeptical of any troop surges for Afghanistan after he became Vice President in 2009 and I don't think his heart was behind that war anymore minus more limited counter terrorism missions. He seemed to understand how futile Afghanistan was.

So I would hope that Joe would not allow the U.S. to get entangled with Iran. Jokes aside about Biden and his mind, I have no idea how different 2009 Joe Biden is from 2024.

The Roe v Wade decision is what made it a toxic issue for decades.

It was a bullshit decision that was finally corrected. And now the country can properly address the issue, by leaving it to the states and we can move on.

You should be thanking Trump for helping to move us past this divisive issue.

Yes, because it got so less divisive after it was overturned. We went all the way back to 1864 in Arizona and in Texas you might die as the fetus inside you is dying (and possibly preventing a woman from having more kids if she survives) so she has to go to another state to potentially save her own life (pro life!).

I personally don't like that abortions happen (minus rape, incest or health of the mother) but it is none of my god damn business what someone else chooses to do. As a conservative, I thought we were supposed to stay in our lane so to speak and not have too much government intrusion. But here we are with some of these states going above an beyond overreach. Republicans wanted to overturn it for so long so we'll see how it potentially hurts them in the long run. Maybe it doesn't but I have my doubts.

Teach the basics in sex education and don't ban it anywhere. Teaching abstinence is fine by me but go above and beyond that. We could possibly prevent unwanted pregnancies and therefore abortions aren't happening as much. Is it a perfect system? Absolutely not but anything and everything helps.

  10. Trump and Biden and both signed off on massive budget deficits. Our last surplus was in 1999 and 2000. Since then we have had two Republicans and Democrat presidents. Both parties have controlled the House, Senate and the White House at some point in the last twenty four years and each year has had a deficit to add to the overall debt. I really just don't see a difference anymore.

I dated this girl once who was pretty Christian.  She worked for a group of Jewish women who treated her kind of poorly.  I said something borderline antisemitic to her in support of her frustration and she jumped down my throat.  She explained that they are the Chosen People and therefore are, apparently, beyond reproach.  It was then I realized that Jews are fucking brilliant.

    True story.

I’m assuming she enjoyed your uncircumcised dick though? If so, you should have called her out on her hypocrisy.
