Seven key takeaways from the US Senate’s border security and Ukraine bill | US-Mexico border | The Guardian

Probably going to fail since they want to put all the foreign aid stuff in it. Those should be in a separate bill. These people suck at passing laws.

The issue here is back in a November, some Republicans said aid to Ukraine had to be tied to border security.

You have those calling for stand alone bills. Some don’t want to support Ukraine and only aid Israel while others want both. Some say the bill has the changes asked for while others feel it’s too weak. MTG is threatening to boot the speaker he tries to pass it. Progressives feel asylum isn’t being protected.

Seems like everything is more of cluster fuck than usual.

I read that as BP meaning Bullpen and wall being a homer, and it made perfect sense for the Angels.

Pretty much any dumpster fire in the world would remind one of the bull pen trying to prevent an inherited runner from scoring. Or even better, the front office making decisions during the 2023 trade deadline.

Well when no humans are around to enforce the walls this shit happens.

Do you mean no BP around at all or just the BP that is there but isn’t enforcing? Because if it’s the former, at the 1:26 mark of your video, there’s an armed BP agent there watching them. Rico’s video back on page 41 (if it’s legit) shows allegedly the same thing.

If it’s latter, I agree it’s pathetic that they are breaching the barrier and they are just watching it happen.

Having said that, I’ve never been a huge fan of the wall just because of this fact. And unless we hire more BP, hard to guard every part of the wall.

Policing the border is a literal constitutional duty. The Biden admin is basically saying "Don't care, let them come. *shrug*"

Agree. So you agree that Trump should be disqualified over his intentional mishandling of classified information then?

  5. I have no idea because I don’t have the need to know what those documents were (clearance plus need to know=access). I’m guessing we’ll get some idea in the future. But it doesn’t matter because if they have markings of confidential, secret, TS, or TS/SCI, he had no right to them once he left office and how he handled them and shared them went against the law. But for the time being the government says anything marked at those levels, if compromised, could cause “grave/serious damage to national security.” You don’t have to agree with that and that’s fine. I believe we over classify some things. But having said that, that’s the current policy. The markings are what they are until someone appeals the classification through the proper channels.

He was given the chance to give them back quietly and all he did was obstruct. It is interesting he wasn’t charged with the ones he did give back. But because he didn’t 100% comply he put himself in this situation.

Hillary should have been prosecuted because of her intentional actions in not following policy and procedure. Regardless of how sensitive the classified information really was.  So we either don’t really care what Hillary did or we’re just moving the goal posts because it’s Trump and “our guy.”

Jack Teixeira is sitting in a jail cell awaiting trial for the same exact thing Trump did. Seems a bit unfair.

So many terrorist attacks and mass shootings in the U.S. have been perpetrated by immigrants. There are so many I can count them on one hand.

It’s a legitimate concern because you never know who might be coming over. Just not something to take lightly. No matter how low the risk. Although if we had better foreign policy, that could help reduce some risks.

Having that, my question was to point out that if national security is a concern and Biden should be disqualified because of it, Trump should in no way be qualified to run either for his intentional mishandling of classified information.

If he were innocent, he would have given his DNA.

I think he should have given his DNA but he chose not to and that’s his right.

I have no definitive proof if he did or didn’t do it and we’ll probably never know. What I do know is we have audio proof of what Trump brags he does without consent or asking. “I don’t even wait.”

So would it really shock us if he did it?

  8. Trump should have given his DNA. If it came back it wasn’t his DNA on her clothes, I think the defamation suit goes a whole lot better for him.

I think I heard if he appeals, he has to put up a portion of money up for bond or something like that. @wopphil is that accurate?

The border crisis alone should be enough to disqualify Biden from the presidency.

I’m assuming one of the reasons it disqualifies him is due to national security, right?

    Trade balance U.S. 2022 | Statista

Someone needs to do something. Probably past the point of no return though.

I believe tariffs are just passed on to the consumer when it comes to cost so whatever needs to be done, I’m not sure tariffs are the answer. And like I said, we give big farmers billions of dollars a year. The tariffs hurt the farmers so it required billions more to bail them out. Biden still hasn’t gotten rid of them so I don’t know what that’s about but it’s a poor decision not to in my opinion.

I’m also hoping he doesn’t do anything idiotic with pressuring the Feds on interest rates like he did in 2018, if he does become president. There was absolutely no reason to keep them artificially low when the economy had been doing well for a few years. He even floated the idea of them going negative, if I remember correctly.
