Regardless, the optics of this strategy looks  like desperation on the part of the left. Trump has played the victim card quite a bit and this gives some credence to that for a lot of people.  It’s going to backfire in a big way. Had the Dems chose someone else other than Biden for ‘24 it may have worked out for them because a lot of people have seen enough of Trump and could have moved on.

If there is one thing 2016 taught me, never rule anything out. I don’t know if anything is going to or not going to backfire.

If people think Trump is a victim at this point, no amount of evidence being exposed would matter anyways. It truly would fulfill his statement about shooting someone on 5th Avenue and not losing a vote.

No one else is responsible but him for his actions. No one forced him to do the things he’s been accused of or caught on tape doing. The right either believes in personal responsibility or it is just a talking point that has no meaning because they can’t set the same standard for Trump.

It should for the reason I stated. This is like MLB suspending Bauer because he was having a type of sex that they didn’t like and they want to believe all women.

Then we’ll need to update the constitution then for the 14th amendment.

Let’s be honest, Trump is getting his due process and much more with all the other criminal activities he’s been indicted for, a lot of which he’s been caught red handed with. In fact it’s proof Trump is getting preferential treatment compared to others. Jack Teixeira is sitting in a jail cell for his intentional mishandling of classified information while Trump’s out golfing and campaigning.

The same crowd that chanted “Lock her up” suddenly cares about due process. Which I have no problem with. Just be fucking consistent.

So far this SCOTUS has been consistent in not hearing cases before the lower court appellate process has been completed.

I think I read somewhere that the appellate is supposed to make a decision on the 9th. If they rule against Trump, that’s where it will get interesting. The SC can either say the appellate has already made a decision and not rule on it or they can take it. I have a feeling they might not take the case if they rule against Trump.

  4. It’s going to end back up at the SC eventually.  This is a victory that Trump usually wins anyways. The delay tactic.

Smith took a risk to beat him to that but lost. So I believe it just goes back to the appellate court. That’s my understanding at least.

  5. If you want to say that Democrat policies don’t help blacks today, I have no problem with that.

But the Dixiecrats of the 1860’s preached small government, states rights. The south has pretty much always been conservative. They’ll go with with whichever party stands for their conservative world view, Democrat or Republican. That’s why they’ll cry their heritage is being taken away but in the same breath try and associate modern day democrats with their Dixiecrat ancestors.

  6. History isn’t being erased. And if you’re concerned about that, I take it you acknowledge that the Lost Cause myth and the southerners who perpetuated it were the ones who truly tried to erase history, correct?

Also was the statue about reconciliation? I know it has that name but I truly don’t know. All I could find was this. Maybe there is more.

“Some of the figures also on the statue include a Black woman depicted as “Mammy” holding what is said to be the child of a white officer, and an enslaved man following his owner to war.”

I don’t think we’ll ever know the full truth behind JFKs assassination.

The investigation was poorly done. We continue to hear about witnesses that weren’t interviewed or evidence that wasn’t handled properly. the fact that the autopsy was performed by someone who had never done one before, and that the secret service was inside the autopsy room telling people right and left what to do just lends itself to so much conjecture about what was really going on and casts legitimate doubt over most of their conclusions.

The fact that Kennedys brain went missing just smells of a pretty large coverup.

The fact that so many cling to the magic bullet is unsupportable. For that bullet to have done as much damage to as many bones as they claim isn’t reasonable.

I’m greatly bothered that the fatal headshot, with a trajectory from left to right, is accepted to have been fired from a position of right to left and down angled. I’m not buying it, and no one seems to want to pursue it.

Watched a documentary last night that concluded that Kennedy was shot by a SS agent in the chase car with an AR-15 by accident. Pure nonsense.

If you have an hour and a half to kill, really good video Tank. He comes to the opposite conclusion but still great information. Guy makes quality content, including one on Jack the Ripper.

Well you’re taking the out of context lazy atheist that’s read one passage of the Bible argument. That said you also fail to understand the concept of Creator and Judge.
I agree with a lot of libertarian views of government. However the blatant rejection of eternal truths has shifted libertarians more in line with the single issue God hating libs. Right and wrong exists and never changes. Freedom can only exist within the confines of eternal truths.

Hmmm nah I don’t think it’s lazy or taken out of context. The Bible mentions God killing or ordering the Israelites to kill people which would include children and even pregnant women. And yet abortion is abhorrent in a God’s view. Doesn’t add up in my opinion and is hypocritical.

I’m all for believing what you want. But I believe it’s inconsistent.

Joe Biden and Fauci disagree. Then there the 100 million Americans that lost their life without a vote. But hey, those who survived can have transgender story time in kindergarten courtesy of the dem party.

Didn't the God you worship kill a bunch of babies in the Old Testament? Just want to verify the consistency of baby/fetus murder throughout history. Especially what is acceptable and what isn't.

Another Iranian puppet. You’d think after 10 years of getting battered by the Saudi Air Force they’d be wary of jumping back in

What’s going on between those two countries is their business. But unfortunately Obama and Trump sided with the Saudis and supplied them with weapons for their conflict. Really wish our tax dollars weren’t being used to contribute to the bloodshed we all know is coming.

Let’s all hope no school children get blown up during their field trip this time.

  11. If possible, Israel just needs to find a better way of getting at Hamas if they are using innocent Palestinians as human shields. Every kid that gets killed by Israel just feeds into creating another terrorist down the road. Rinse and repeat. Especially if Israel continues to encroach on territory like many have accused them of.

We had every right to go after the Taliban and the terrorists in Afghanistan after 9/11 but we all became more critical of how the government conducted itself with every civilian casualty that happened in the process. Israel is facing the same situation.

If we can be critical of our own government, we can be critical of Israel if they do the same exact stuff. They have a right to defend themselves but they don't have the right to indiscriminately kill. Otherwise they become no better than Hamas.

Can't be perfect. Israel will get our money no matter who is in government unfortunately.

I agree they'll get it regardless of which party has control but that's the problem. It's cognitive dissonance being upset about money dumped into Ukraine and shy away from the decades amount of money having been dumped into Israel. And will continue to be funneled to them in the many years to come.

    Oh well.

As far as aid to Israel......

    https://thehill.com/homenews/house/4274682-where-gop-speaker-nominee-mike-johnson-stands-on-ukraine-israel/

“[T]he United States unequivocally stands with Israel and we will provide the support and resources necessary to rid the Middle East and the world of hamas’ terrorist regime,” Johnson said in a recent statement to Nexstar station KTAL. “Please join us in continued prayers for our friends and our allies in Israel.”

In a post on X last Thursday, Johnson appeared to say Biden’s recent Oval Office speech “only confirms the urgent need for the U.S. to act in support of our great ally, Israel, as they fight against Hamas terrorists.”
