    I almost think Jeff heard the Angels offer and was shocked. I’m guessing we went crazy money. Like 7/280 or some nonsense.

    This whole BS "from the Yankees camp" about willing to write a check for whatever number and years Boras and Cole want is complete BS. It's all Boras trying to get Cole's price up and have the Angels bidding against themselves.

    I still that if we strike out on Cole and Stras, then expect some of the farm (Adell, Marsh, Adams, etc..) to be unloaded for pitching. With signing Trout to a long term extension and bringing in Maddon, there's no way this is another year we go shopping for peanuts (Harvey, Cahill, Allen). He will get a big name or two one way or another.

    I have a feeling the white sox are going to end up with him. They have a lot of cash, are opening up their wallets, and not afraid to overspend. A dangerous combo.

    I'm perfectly fine with overpaying a bit for pitching this year since last year we literally pissed away $30M or so in pitching to get negative WAR.

    Rob Manfred about to drop the hammer on the Astros....by spring training. I think MLB needs to drop the hammer asap as the longer it drags on, the worse it is for them.

    It's crazy they do it the entire game too, not just in clutch situations. There's video of them doing it to the first batter in the first inning. How did no one notice this until recently? I imagine the opposing team could hear it all game? Just assume it's one of those guys beating on the drum like at the Indians games?

    Even with hard evidence they'll most likely just get told to not do this so obviously next time. I say take away some draft picks and fine the heck out of them.

    Anytime I worry about spending $30M + on Cole, I remember we paid nearly $30M last year for Cahill, Harvey, and Allen for -1.2 WAR. Cole's WAR last year was 6.8 according to Baseball Reference.
