As soon as Farquhar went in to pitch, I knew it was game over. Sure enough Cron blasts one of his meatballs over the fence for a two run blast on the first pitch. Seriously, if Loyd McClendon is dumb enough to pitch him again, consider it to be batting practice and take full advantage of it.
 
Did you see in the first inning when Santiago got into trouble, Butcher went out there to calm him down? He managed to get his act together and pitched well for six more innings. Where was this Thursday night, when Richards was giving up hits right and  left, yet Butcher and Sosh sat on their ass? See what pro-active managing can do?
 
As impressive as Trout's and Cron's bombs were, Trumbo's blast in the ninth was really a moon shot. He hit it all the way to the back end of the Pen in dead center. It is estimated to have flown 482ft. Nah, we did not need him when he was on the trade market.
 
The Seattle press was hyping Mike Montgomery on  his first three impressive starts. Still they failed to mention that two of his first three wins came  against the Padres and the A's. When Trouty hit his first bomb, I knew it was time to get a little more perspective.
 
Pestano really sucks. Could he have  just let me end the ninth with little  drama?

I wish Richards would have given up 3-4 bombs in the first few innings because we could have pulled his ass by the third inning at the latest. Instead we had to suffer through 6 1/3 inning of being killed by a thousand cuts. Richards clearly did not have it tonight, yet our bullpen remained silent and Sosh twiddled his thumbs.
I mean, how do you not pull a guy who gave up hits to Zunino (160 BA), Trumb (190) and Ackley (204)?
 
19 hits by the Mariners (12 by Richards) was the most the Mariners have hit this season.
 
Was Joyce delirious because he finally got on the base paths? How else do you explain him trying to take third base in the second inning when he was dead meat halfway there. I guess it was great body contortions by Joyce to make the play look close.
 
Felix was good but he has been better. Only 6K's for him is kinda an off night. At least we got his game out of the way.
 
Mike Montgomery has looked real good since his call up a couple weeks ago for the M's. He's on the  mound Friday night.

At least we haven't filed for bankruptcy like the Dodgers.

That's the toothache for an earache trade. Still go with Arte. Even though the team lucked out and won the World Series under Disney, the team was worth only $150 million when Arte bought it. A team in the second largest market should have been worth a hell of a lot more than that.

While I'm disgusted with the way things went down today, I have been through far worse in my Angels fandom. I'm here to stay.

John Madden once said if you stay in a coaching job more than 10 years, you start to burn out and players turn you out. It can work longer in  college if you win ALL the time (Coach K at Duke). Look at the 80's Lakers who after five titles in ten years, the players quit listening to Pat Riley.
 
That said, I think Sosh has some incriminating pictures of Arte, so he won't be the one he fires.

I was at the Yankees-hosted ASG and watched Hamilton hit a million bombs. He hit more that night, than I think he hit in his Angels career.
