i think this may be the year we see kendrick traded. i think there's a perfect storm brewing of more teams interested and the angels more interested in listening.
i think the donaldson story is bs. he's a gamer, with no history of being "injury" prone. if your best player, or any player for that matter, tells the manager in a respectful way that he needs a break, then give the mother****er a break.
dude has been going off the rails here for a couple years down here in san diego. really weird drug and or alcohol incidents. his career is going down the toilet if he doesn't get his head right. it doesn't seem like he's interested in any of that yet, which is why the padres just non tendered a promising starting SS, who led the league in steals just two years ago.
his not being hidden was partially my point. the semantic of "husband" means nothing to me. they've been together for 29 years. those dudes are married.
i'd like to add one last thing. everyone in baseball has known that he was gay for 29 years. his husband has an mlb id card. 29 years and he never brought it up publicly. they wanted personal life photos for the story and he thought, should i intentionally omit the most significant person in my life?
my questions are, wouldn't that hurt your feelings if you were his husband of 29 years? and does a guy that has lived openly gay in his work and personal life for 29 years sound like an attention whore?
i live in san diego, trust me, padre fans are cursed. they get one of the rawest deals in sports. petco is nice, but it pales by comparison to pnc and at&t.
some man made structures get a pass on convenience because you step into history once you step inside. fenway and wrigley are two of these places, but admittedly i don't feel the hate towards other franchises that most experience through fandom.
