that's absurdly false, and every player ever will tell you that. players want to experience the world series, super bowl, etcetera. they want to be a part of it. once they get there they absolutely want to win, but i've been around countless players just talking about how they want to experience the postseason. losing in the first round and losing in a championship are universally different. anybody should know that. anything else is just pretend tough guy, "gitrdun" talk.

i'd take puig in a minute. i don't think he's as much of a bad guy as people make him out to be. i think he's a whirling dervish, by definition actually.

when i think about the angels playoffs this year, i feel how my mother must have felt when she would say things like, "no, you didn't do anything wrong technically, but i'm just very disappointed in you." we choose to either live up or down to the moment. i feel like scioscia and the angels really just kind of quit after the division lock up party. i know they didn't, but they kind of did.

but i don't want to live in arizona.

no one can convince me that there is some dollar short fall keeping the proper entities i listed above from having a significant police presence outside of the stadium on game nights. just so we're clear, event security isn't good enough, they're not the deterrent that the cops are. also, i'm a big believer in the nfl's practice of having police in away uniforms inside the stadium posing as away fans. it's a great program.

i love the angels. it's absolute bullshit that they, mlb and the city of anaheim don't have a strong police presence in the parking lot after the game. outside of the stadium before and after a game is the single most likely place and time for violence to occur. they know better and yet do little about it. they're going to get sued just like the dodgers and it'll be deserved. i lay this at the feet of several institutions.

i mostly agree with you, but i think you'd agree we're getting forty cents on the dollar from our big FA signings. our return on investment has been horrific. it's been the kids that have carried this team to the best record in baseball.

this team will be very similarly constructed next year. it's just the way it is contract wise. the guys who've contributed are not FA eligible and the guys who we would like to trade have long contracts and no trade value whatsoever.

well, this postseason has been fun. what a terrific reward of highs and lows after a glorious regular season.

listen, i'm not trying to pick a fight with you, and i'm a gun owner. i don't think that it's too difficult to understand how bringing weapons into the stadium, where drunken violence is a problem, might not be the wisest decision one could make.

well, so far joey is exhibiting more of a part of the problem rather than part of the solution attitude for all of us. yes joey, bring a knife to the stadium. that'll make things much better.
