    Nope.

Funny is being one strike away from winning the World Series ..... twice.

Also funny is being 5 games up with 9 to play and completely f*cking it up.

I don't care what stat or numbers say, but if anyone want to say coaches(hitting or pitching) don't make a difference on players........he must never play the game of baseball.

Frieri Meatball reacted to Blarg in Info on Trout's swing problems
The author pointed out what Pujols had told Trout, he was standing too upright. It seems really odd that so many components of his swing altered from last season to this, his front left leg planting too soon, the angle of his foot pointing outward instead of towards the plate. Great hitters are usually machines that have only one component slip out of sync at a time while Trout looks more like he tried to completely revamp his swing in the off season.

I like the one-off of the new format. Of course it is stressful if one's favorite team is involved, but it makes for exciting baseball - and I think improves the pennant race by making a division title all that more desirable.

I do, but I'm not as worried, probably because of how well we've played lately. I truly believe we will play well against the A's the rest of the year. I am blown away at how some teams, like the A's, seem impervious to having that one team that is a thorn in their sides, like the Astros are to the Angels. The A's just grind out wins.

Frieri Meatball reacted to Second Base in Because of the solid play of Cowgill
Look, Cowgill is a fine player.  Very effective as a 4th OF.  He's doing his job, which is produce when given the playing time.  He's hitting .321/.412 right now and playing fine defense.  He's exactly what this team needed, but once Calhoun returns, Cowgill needs to return to the job he's best suited for, which is 4th OF and late inning defensive substitute as well as pinch runner.

His career batting average in the minors is .292, and there's nothing that suggests his current pace of .321 in the majors is even remotely sustainable.

Calhoun plays defense just as well as Cowgill does, offers the same speed and plate discipline, but has more power, should hit for a higher average, is younger and has a higher ceiling.   When Hamilton and Calhoun are healthy, they need to be playing everyday because the Angels are a better team with them than without them.

Frieri Meatball reacted to mulwin444 in Because of the solid play of Cowgill
IF Cowgill continues to play this way, I think Calhoun, Hamilton, and Trout retain their old positions and Cowgill essentially takes over Cron/Ibanez's AB's at DH.  Cowgill can play solid OF at all three position so he can give all three breathers in the OF on seperate nights.  Calhoun can also move to 1B on a couple nights and allow Pujols to DH.  Cron and Green both go down to AAA to get AB's.  The platoon wouldn't necessarily work in my opinion as Kole historically hits lefties better than righties (.300/.800 OPS this season, .307, .808 OPS career in MLB, hit over .400 in SLC last season).
