Hicks should find himself some comfortable dugout seat because he may be on it for a while.

    New lineup graphic. Thoughts?

BTH. You are focused on Adrianza's plate appearance, which really wasn't a critical moment. Trout with bases loaded was the critical moment and he froze. That is where focus should be, the Angels #1 player is not capable of putting together a decent plate appearance.

I think it's time to sit Trout and tell him it's time to get his shit together. Bases loaded with two outs is no time to play umpire on borderline pitches, foul that shit off.

This way more on the front office than it is on Wash. Hicks shouldnt be on the team.

    GO ANGELS!!!!
    AVERT A CINCY SWEEP!!
A 4-6 road trip is very slightly less painful than a 3-7 journey.
Finish with a win, Angels and you can think positive thoughts on the flight home before the team's 10,000th game on Monday.

If/when the Angels get swept out of Cincy today, they’ll be 9-13.
After, they come home for 9 games against three teams, two of which are legitimate World Series contenders. And the third was a preseason consensus favorite to win their division. Then they go back on the road to face the team with the best record in the AL.
This is going to get ugly quick…

I didn't see on the replay Young holding up a stop sign, waving stop or yelling get back. Washington was talking to Young in the dugout about it.
He should have been held up long before he looked down to make sure he hit the bag. I think Young fucked up.

Infield single for Adell.  Let's see if he can avoid getting picked off, thrown out, etc.

Perry needs to get pro active and make some roster moves. The season could slip away quickly if some changes aren't made.
The farm is still not that promising at the high level with hitters but lower down some guys are starting to grow..

Brutal loss, but historically, we lose 3/4 here. I like the direction. But the personal is clearly lacking. There had to be a better veteran than Hicks available. He is so bad.

I think it was a major mistake to draft guys with the *idea* that they could come up soon. Baseball is so different, and there's a reason this concept has not been practiced by good teams. College hitters -- I would think especially small school college hitters -- are not ready to face major league pitching. Schanuel, Neto, Bachman, and Joyce are evidence of that. They were all rushed to the major because of a desperation to compete. And now Bachman is completely off the radar, Joyce is struggling in the minors, and Neto and Schanuel are Livan Soto and Kevin Padlo. These guys are so young, it's actually kind of sad to watch their at bats. Schanuel gets frustrated at every strike he guesses wrong on, and when he gets fooled at strikes out looking, he stands there for 2-3 seconds in shock. Neto looks like he knows he's going to strike out, and when he does he just turns and storms back to the dugout. Their confidence at the plate is shot. This will likely go down as one of Perry's greatest mistakes because this has nothing to do with Arte. We could drafted Spencer Jones, Cam Collier, etc...but instead we took a guy we thought could play right away. There is still plenty of opportunity for these guys to become good major leaguers, but the point is that doing this really hindered their growth by putting a ton of pressure on them and in turn putting a major roadblock in the way of their development. 1B and SS were easy positions to fill well we let guys develop. Just so frustrating.

Eh sucks that we lost but we’re still around first and .500 in a year we shouldn’t be, in the midst of a really rough schedule month. And there were a lot of positives today with Soriano, O’Hoppe and Moniak homering, and the guys at least hanging in there. Should have won the game, but they still had some wins in there. Fulmer got the loss, yeah, but between last outing and the start of this one, he looks like he could be handy to have if they don’t DFA him tomorrow for a fresh arm.
Seeing Soriano potentially become a starter and O’Hoppe continuing to prove he could be a legit star on both sides of the plate matters a lot more than one win to me this year.
