Kobe's death has hit me harder than anything beyond my family/friend deaths.  Hard to put into words how someone can weave their way into the fabric of your being over a 20 year period without really recognizing it.  It's made harder knowing he was there at the end with his child, with the knowledge he couldn't protect her.  Just in a really sad place.

I was expecting Marsh to be a top-50 prospect but not until mid-season so this is pretty awesome.

If we can't improve the roster, I'm fine running with this team of course.  Collison improves us if we can get him.

We're a contender for the title as is.  We've played the most games on the road in the NBA.  We nearly beat a good eastern team on their floor without arguably our best player (at least 1B to Lebron's 1A) and played a piss-poor 1st half against Milwaukee on their floor and nearly came back from it.  Not that I disagree with Tennischmp's issues with the team, those being addressed would help significantly.
Gotta keep in mind that this is a team that has played together for 30 games.

HaloMilliVanilli got a reaction from Angel Oracle in It's possible the Angels pitching situation isn't as dire as we make it to be...
I was interested in who the Atlanta Braves constructed their pitching staff with last season in winning 97 games.
Julio Teheran (33 starts, 174 innings, 3.81), Mike Soroka (29 starts, 174 innings, 2.68), Max Fried (30 starts, 165 innings, 4.02), Mike Foltynewicz (21 starts, 117 innings, 4.54), Dallas Keuchel (19 starts, 112 innings, 3.75), Kevin Gausman (16 starts, 80 innings, 6.19) and 3-4 other guys getting 4 starts each.
I think we could construct a pretty similar rotation fairly easily.  Signing Keuchel duplicates Teheran, our Soroka is getting Ohtani back (although with likely fewer innings), signing Teheran matches Fried, Canning could be Foltynewicz, Bundy could easily give you Keuchel innings + with likely higher ERA, Heaney is an easily better Gausman.  And that doesn't even consider innings/starts from Sandoval, Barria, Suarez.
This is just considering we do something like signing Keuchel and Teheran.  I think Eppler has confidence that he can field a competitive pitching staff and is waiting for a better deal to present itself, either in FA or trade.  Patience please.

The only team with a losing record to have a positive point differential.  I'd love to get Tua, but we absolutely need to get better/healthier along the O-line.  Tua would be a nice pick for 2021 or 2022 and beyond to lead the Chargers.  This is a pretty talented roster so I don't see us completely tanking and sniffing a top-5 pick anytime soon, so take the shot on Tua falling due to injury.  Got to spend a 2nd and/or 3rd on O-line prospects, though.  Dip into FA for a pass protecting tackle and let Melvin Gordon go.  Someone else can pay the RB, we should just draft one on the cheap.

Wins in Denver and Utah are no joke.  We have historically had issues there, as well as Portland.  10-0 on the road playing anywhere is significant.

Bradley coming back helps that depth.  We can go back to Bradley/Green/Lebron/AD/McGee, then Rondo/Caruso/KCP/Kuzma/Dwight coming off the bench as needed.  We have good facilitators (Lebron, Rondo, Caruso), good scorers (Lebron, AD, Kuzma), good D on bigs (AD, Dwight, McGee), good D on smalls (Bradley, KCP, Green), good team D.  This team could use one more shooter but one can only ask for so much with roster construction as it is.

Really fun watching last nights game, except for the first 4 minutes or so.  Lots of turnovers and uninspired play.  Vogel calls a timeout and the rest is history.  Enjoy watching this team play D when they are locked in.  Good rotations, feet moving, challenging everything.  That can win us a chip!  Does watching and rooting for this team make me feel like a dirty little whore?  Nope.  Why, because we traded away all the young players we drafted?  How about the 99-01 champs?  Signed or traded for Shaq, Kobe, Horry, Fox, Shaw, Rice, Harper, etc.  Didn't care then, don't care now.  It's the name on the front that I care about, not the back.

Thank you to the NBA for giving us an easier schedule in November to try and get some cohesion.  December will be tough, we likely won't have Avery Bradley, so we will find out what we're made of.  Dallas, @Denver, @Utah, @Portland, Minnesota, @Orlando, @Miami, @Indiana, @Milwaukee, Denver, Clips, @Portland and Dallas (Atlanta on the road is also in there).  Still trying to figure out what combinations of players to put together.  It's nice to win again!

Here is the schedule for November: Chicago, Miami, Toronto, Phoenix, Golden State, Sacramento, Atlanta, OKC, OKC, Memphis, San Antonio, New Orleans, Washington
I agree that the Howard signing may be huge, and he is earning the starting job/more minutes.  I could see us winning all of the remaining games in November, or losing a few (Miami is playing really well, potential for a weird loss against Sac or Atl).  Probably looking at somewhere between 18-1 to 15-4 by end of November.  This team isn't firing on all cylinders and probably won't be until February/March.  Could be scary good if we can remain healthy.
