Hope he makes it through and can have more time without being plugged into a battery pack. He shouldn't be alive today but by a miracle and also being in good physical condition he made to transplant day. 
Sadly someone else had to pass on to leave a donor heart. Thoughts and thanks to those that fill out a donor card and remorse for the family that lost a loved one to make this possible so close to the new year.

I would recommend going the day after to see the floats. there are a ton of people but its neat to see the floats up close 

I'm going to sound like an asshole, but fuck these protesters.  If they want to protest sure go ahead and protest, but to go out, start fires, block freeways, throw shit at cops, and break store front windows, well quite frankly they are criminals and their opinion is less valid in my opinion.  

And I would have no problem if they did get arrested for it. They have to understand where the rules apply to their rights.

Disrupting traffic is vindictive and petty and really doesn't move their agenda forward. It's a form of whining and serves no positive purpose for either side. 

I hope this means the Clinton era has officially ended.

Yeah that would stink 

lifelong vegetarian. stopped drinking soda two years ago because of kidney stones (was in the ER this morning because i've managed to grow three new ones - yay), so i drink only water or sugar free juice. had weight loss surgery in july and have given up bread, pasta, and rice. no more sugary things including desserts and drinks. trying to consume lots of protein, fruits and veggies, plus some nuts here and there. 
diet has changed severely for me and sometimes figuring out what i can eat is a bit tricky. the good news is that my food volume has decreased by over 75% and as of last friday, i've lost 104 lbs.

The "poor mike trout" posts about how the team is letting him down (and forcing him to leave five years from now) are among the most annoying on the board.  And this is from someone who writes a lot of annoying stuff.

the only thing i care about are better bathrooms and better food options
