Simba is my second fave, for the last several years. Just a fun guy to watch.
But if the deal was right, id consider it.
Im not smart enough to know how soon they will help, or how good our current prospects are. But it comes down to if simmons' peak is likely to be part of the next wave or not.
If he is likely to dip once the next core hits, IMO, it makes more sense to get a piece for that era than the current one.
Just my 2 cents.

Not gonna lie, it would not shock me if the Angels possibly went after BPA at 3B early...   Josh Jung is first half to mid first talent that has enough tools to possibly catch the Angels' eye.    They have never been one to target needs but this is one of those times where the position and the player may line up well for them.

Guys quit picking on @Second Base. He's extremely optimistic on a lot of our guys, but it's better than the other extreme.
I'll say this, when he was writing prospect content for us the Angels minor league coaches, staffers and front office people loved his stuff.
Jack Howell hit me up a couple times asking when we'd have our top 30 prospects list done on two different occasions/years. The reason why was because he printed it out and stuck up in the minor league clubhouse facility in Arizona to show how well these guys could be based on our scouting reports. He said the players loved it. 
Yes I know, it's good to be objective and be realistic, but if you could err on the side of being pessimistic or optimistic on some of our guys I'd rather go with the latter.

I would have put our A ball pitching as our top priority in 2019 and it's off to a tremendous start so far. We're starting to hit a stretch where numbers are becoming more believable as well, and could see some promotions within the next few weeks.

Burlington (19 G): 2.67 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, only 123 hits allowed (6.7 per 9) in 165.1 innings, with 85 BB, 177 K, only 10 HR 
Inland Empire (19 G): 3.11 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, 154 H in 171 IP with 90 BB, 200 K(10.5 K/9), only 7 HR allowed in a big HR league

Last year, Burlington had a 3.92 ERA and Inland Empire a 4.55 ERA, for reference.

He seems to be more aggressive on the first pitch of the games I've watch lately.

These guys have been big spark plugs and in the case of La Stella and Goodwin, HUGE surprises.

I just said it another thread, but to me, stressing about catching a second WC slot doesn’t sound as fun as hoping Cahill, Harvey, Lucroy, Allen, and maybe one of Calhoun, Cozart, Bour, or a reliever, plays well enough to allow Eppler a nice Buttrey/Sandoval return on a couple of these investments. And if those guys do produce we’ll wind up in the mix anyways. But I want to see some July trades and even more depth hit the farm, so Billy can add via FA or trades this offseason.
We can field a really intriguing team next season off internal options alone - lets just add to that crop, free up money, and let Billy make some impact moves this winter.

Also, Im willing to be bet a lifetime salary that if trout had left for the east coast, that you would find an internet connection from the moon if you had to to post about it.

The Angels team OPS+ is 42. 
It’s fine to make of fun of and be annoyed by that.  While at the same time understanding that the team has plenty of time to right the ship. 

Be glad to trade you some ARVN rifles for them. Never been fired and only dropped once.

Then we sent all those players back to AAA. 

Seriously, I was just ecstatic to watch the Angels play the season opener today ... of course a win would of been the cherry on top.
A series win is what’s important against the A’s. Go Angel baseball!
