NJHalo got a reaction from Tank in Hanford Guy's Hijacked Memes Thread
I got picked to shoot the puck from center ice at a NY Rangers game at MSG. It was between the first and second period, and the ice was a disaster. Felt like I was on the sand at a beach. Missed the goal by two feet, and was booed by 18,000 people.

NJHalo reacted to Stradling in Ray Donovan
It is a terrific show that keeps getting better. I hate Jon Voight, but he kills it in ever seen. I think he has it written into his contract that he must dance in every episode. That last episode was truly amazing. You knew you were watching a train wreck and just how great Ray was at acting kinda drunk, then watch it progress to him being really drunk, then in the end he is dancing with his son. That last scene where he is dancing with his son, it made the episode. His boy was hurting, it was a rough night, seeing all of his families issues laid out right in front of him, then Ray comes down after giving him his impromptu gift and starts to dance, f'ing incredible. That was one of the better episodes of TV I have seen in quite awhile. This certainly is the golden age of TV right now.

Yes, I watch if every week. I agree last weeks episode was just amazing. The episode was also directed by Liev Schreiber. I thought the ending was perfect as well. I'm really enjoying this season. Was kind of worried how it would be since season one was so good. But they've been going strong this season as well and just like last year, Jon Voigt steals every scene he is in.

Just finished all 4 seasons.
Best. Show. Ever.
When does season 5 start? I will be ordering HBO. Watched all 4 seasons on my tablet using the Comcast Xfinity app (amazing app).

Update- met with my doc. I need 2 more tests, a brain MRI and a bone scan, to determine if the lung cancer has spread to those areas, before treatment can begin. If I'm lucky, it has not. Then they want to start me with 2 weeks of radiation to help me breathe better. After that, they want to hit me with radiation and chemo concurrently. Sounds like a fun time, yes?
This is scary shit. But I'm gonna do it anyway. Part of me wants to get the ball rolling now, the other part wants to enjoy not feeling the side effects as long as I can. But I know whatever I'm in store for is gonna happen in God's time, not mine.
Love you guys. Keep them prayers a-comin' please...

ps- Found out my oncologist (who grew up in NY) is a Mets fan. "Of course, I hate the Yankees". I have now connected with him on a new level.

NJHalo reacted to Chimi in Worried about Trout
Trout is hitting .288, .930 OPS, 27 HRs, and 88 RBI and people are worried about him. I understand he's been struggling lately but have our expectations of him become so great that those types of numbers aren't good enough?

NJHalo reacted to Angels_Make_Me_Drink in ALS Ice bucket challenge
I'd much rather see #icebucketchallenge and #raiseawareness on my instagram feed than #yolo #lol #likeforlike etc..etc..etc...
I don't mind the social activism through social media, its a great way to get the word out and it gets people talking about it. Its all over the news...athletes...country singers...actors...everyone is doing it. Its a great cause...being annoyed by it seems a bit silly.

NJHalo reacted to BaseballMom in ALS Ice bucket challenge
You are all talking about it aren't you? The more celebrities/athletes who do it and contribute as well the better. I bet more people contribute based on one of their favorite ballplayers dumping a bucket of ice water on his head than just being "aware". It seems to be working because more money is being donated than at this time last year.

Luckily, the memories of Colossus will live forever in "KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park."

NJHalo reacted to xboom28x in ALS Ice bucket challenge
It became "dump ice water on you or donate." So everyone started dumping ice water. I'm all for inventive ways to bring awareness to this awful disease, but don't choose dumping ice water on you over donating.
And post a link to donate when you post your video for crying out loud!

My grandfather died of ALS before I turned one. My grandmother has been involved with fundraising for it ever sense. It would be great if they could find a way to cure or at least delay the onset/severity of symptoms.

I haven't been officially challenged yet, but would happily oblige. It's for a great cause. You may not like the fact that it's a "social media" thing, but it's bringing-in tons of $ for research.
$4 million compared to $1.1 in the same time-frame last year!

No.
My gf grandma passed away from als a few years ago. We try to raise money throughout the year before the als walk in Irvine every November.
It's a brutal disease it's good to see people spread the word about it and raise money.

NJHalo reacted to Lou in Tony Stewart and the Chamber of Secrets
Perhaps he was actually paying attention to the guys he was racing against and didn't see the idiot in all black...on a dark dirt track...with poor lighting...at night standing in directly in the path of cars still racing.

NJHalo reacted to Vegas Halo Fan in Tony Stewart and the Chamber of Secrets
In the video you see the guy get out of his car. Standing next to it and pointing at Stewart wasn't good enough, so he moves closer and closer to the cars going around the track. Walking toward moving cars on a dirt surface on what was probably at best a marginally-lit track was not the smartest thing he could have done. It is tragic that he was killed, but it was completely avoidable on his part.

NJHalo reacted to Chimi in Jerry Jones: Keeping it classy.............Not!
Apparently these pictures are from 2011 and are just coming out now when the attempt to black mail him failed. Being a Cowboys fan, these pictures aren't surprising at all. There have been many stories over the years of Jerry Jones and his partying life style. Apparently even in his 70s, he does some pretty crazy stuff and he likes young women. This has been going on a long time and will probably never change. Probably why this story isn't really exploding and you don't see it plastered all over ESPN and other news sites. It's just been one of those things people know about, but never talk about.

NJHalo reacted to rageous in I bet the PiratesWin.com is hating the Frieri trade
Not only is Grilli doing much better in the AL and Frieri doing even worse with the Pirates, Frieri managed to hit Goldschmidt in the hands and put him out for the year. And then the next game Arizona goes after the Pirates best player McCutchen and he gets injured by the HBP and he could be out for several weeks. Talk about one trade pretty much ruining your year.
