I can totally see Arte thinking of Maddon as a prize, the same way he did Pujols. Gotta keep that 3 million thru the turnstiles in mind, it's Arte's main drive. I think that if Maddon truly becomes available, Arte will pounce on him for marketing value.

He had some pretty good lineups with the Tigers. 

IMO the Angels should build their pitching staff as if Ohtani isn't available to pitch.
Anything we get from Ohtani, pitching wise, should be considered a bonus.
At least until he's proven that he's healthy and can pitch a full season.
Angels pitching injuries are the stuff of legend. Is Ohtani is the next chapter?
