    I would actually consider trading Rengifo. His value has never been higher.
    Sell as much as you can and start to rebuild. This season is lost.

    I agree.  But is seems like Fletcher in particular gets a pass, because he is the beloved David Fletcher, and I don’t think he should.

    We have a unique knack for guys coming up, having like one or half of a good season, and then immediately fading back into obscurity or getting injured. But also never at the same time so there's no hope for a sustained winning streak (i.e., Rengifo suddenly learning how to hit right as Walsh and Ward go into long slumps)

    Knowing the Angels they'd bring in a haul of top, almost major league ready prospects and then screw up their development.

    They're not going to trade him before the deadline.  They'll try to improve the team this off season and convince Shohei to stay.  Whether or not that works or actually happens is another matter... but that seems most likely.  It seems like Arte's only real option.
