one of the first ones i'd dump would be the death tax/estate tax/inheritance tax, whatever it's called. it's money that has already been taxed, but it gets taxed again when the owner dies and passes it along to someone? extremely unfair and redundant.

Hopefully the Angels reconsider giving no trade clauses in the future.

Isn't it possible that they are trying to simply add an element to the story that would be of interest to Americans? I don't think anyone, or the media, believes the loss of life is less tragic because it involves mostly non-Americans. I think they are just pointing out another layer to the story.

We should have kept him. In case of another relapse, he'd be suspended and we'd save a ton of money.

I think this is a great deal for the Rangers. I'd jump at the chance to lock up Hamilton for $7,000,000. This could turn out to be a steal for them.

Hamilton put up a 114 OPS+ last season. Disappointing and underwhelming, for sure, but still quite productive. He could have helped this team.

I'm not overly pleased with the way this has been handled.  As has been said, moves were made and the roster set up with the idea that Hamilton would be playing LF.

I couldn't care less about save conversion rate.  He's not a big strikeout pitcher, he gives up some longballs and he's had some pretty mediocre seasons.  He was downright bad in 2013 with the padres.  He's also on the wrong side of 30 and relies a lot on his slider.
 
he's not bad overall, but he can be replaced IMO.  And I'd hate for the angels to throw top 5 closer money at this guy and watch him underperform and/or get injured.  we have enough bad contracts
