Why not limit all magazines, on any and all guns with magazines, to just a few bullets. I don’t hunt, but isn’t it true that you typically get just one shot with which you (1) hit the animal, (2) or it runs away and you don’t get another shot? And as far as home protection goes, in the typical home protection scenario, how many shots does the homeowner actually take? One or two? So can’t gun owners accomplish the only real tasks guns are good for - hunting and home protection - with a gun that merely shoots a shot or two in quick succession?

I wonder how some of you dipshits would feel if this was your kid. Would you still be screaming about your 2A rights? BTW, amendments can be….amended. Crazy, I know, but it can be done.

I don’t know anything about this kid, but his stat line is exceptional. He limits homeruns, limits walks, and strikes out a ton of guys. And he has been doing that as an 18-year old in A ball. Seems like he could skyrocket up the prospect lists.

Agreed. If the A’s would deal Montas for Adell, I’d do it in a second. Again though, this is partially based off the fact that Ward and Marsh are proving themselves to be better options than Adell. So Adell might not even have a spot here.

You have to wonder if we still match well with the Marlins. With Ward demonstrating he is an everyday MLB player, and Marsh seemingly taking a step forward over last year, Adell is expendable. If he has appeal to a team like the Marlins, it would seem the pieces could fall into line for a trade.

Trump would have given the aid to Russia and praised Putin in the process, so Biden’s actions don’t really bother me. Further, this support is the product of bipartisan cooperation, so even the asshat Republicans think it’s a good idea.

Love to see the aggressive promotion. But can a guy who was an 11th round draft pick, just one year ago, really have evolved from essentially a non-prospect into a solid MLB contributor? Are we getting ahead ourselves?

I know Velasquez’s offense numbers have been really bad, but it does seem he has been much better with the bat of late. And in the limited time I have watched him play defense, he seems to be an excellent defender. I am starting to come around to him as the best option at short.

I agree with this 100 percent. He is an injury risk and hasn’t been as dominant as his ERA might suggest. That isn’t to say I don’t appreciate what he has done and don’t want him back here next year and beyond, but the prudent move is to see how he does the rest of the year before talking extension.

I think our rotation has over-achieved thus far. I expect Syndergaard and Lorenzen to start giving up more runs. And I am not yet sold on Detmers, at least not as someone who is going to help much this year. So I’d love to see us acquire Montas. Not sure Adell has enough value to be the centerpiece of a trade, but that might be a trade that makes sense for both teams.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to believe Ward might be a late blooming, above average, every day player. The combination of his hitting approach, his success in the minor leagues, and his improvement the last three years in the big leagues leads me to believe we might have a Justin Turner type player on our hands.

I collect Angels hats (and their minor league affiliates). I probably have close to 35-40 hats. I don’t have this one, but am now thinking i need to add it to the collection.

This is what I understand the least about all this. If he really assaulted them, why did they go back for more? I mean, if I went to a restaurant and got horrible food poisoning, I’d never go back - let alone return just a few days later. And I’m sure if I did go back, nobody would believe me when I complained that the restaurant gave me horrible food poisoning, but I kept going back for more.

It makes a lot of sense for Bauer to fight this. At about $250,000 per game in salary, it won’t take much of a reduction in the suspension to make it a financially smart move. If I were representing Bauer, my strategy would be two-fold. First, I would get into the details of the evidence upon which they found policy violations. This is obvious, of course, but I think you have to attack every single piece of evidence and make MLB take a position as to why they found Bauer’s accusers more credible than Bauer on each such item of evidence. Make MLB justify every single conclusion they reached by aggressively questioning their witnesses and the other evidence upon which they made their findings. And if the arbitrators find Bauer credible (and they might, even though everyone agrees he is an asshole), they might not be totally convinced of MLB’s factual conclusions. Also, it’s one thing for these accusers to speak with an investigator over the phone, and another thing altogether to testify in person. Bauer may have an advantage if he testifies in the appeal (especially if that testimony goes un-rebutted by his accusers). And second, and perhaps even more important, you have to attack the length of the suspension. You do this primarily by comparing Bauer’s case with others to show that he is being treated more harshly than others who have been found to violate the policy. This should be easy to do. Make Manfred explain and try to justify why he is treating Bauer differently than others who have violated the policy. Even if Bauer gets just half a year trimmed from his suspension, that’s $20,000,000.

This actually seems very realistic to me. Suarez is a cheap, MLB capable player. He probably doesn’t have a lot of upside, but he could immediately fill a position for the A’s. And throw in a prospect we can live with losing but who also might have enough upside to entice the A’s.
