  1. Not all these guys of course. But I think Nimmo, Rodon, and one of Bassitt/Anderson/Stripling would make this team a contender. That’s a ton of money to spend and I know they won’t do it, but it’s also not a totally unrealistic amount.
  2. I would target Nimmo, Rodon, Bassitt, Stripling, Tyler Anderson, Rizzo, and Segura.
  3. What can the warthog do? I hear great things about it, but I don’t have the military knowledge to understand why it is superior to other planes. What could it accomplish that perhaps other weapons cannot?
  4. Time to send Ukraine long range missiles. Let them start shooting at real Russian targets (finish off the bridge, start hitting the Black Sea fleet, etc.).
  5. Bachman is going to go down as a colossal disaster for Minasian. This isn’t an organization that can afford to blow such a high draft pick.
  6. Looks like they have a lot more work to do. A good hit, for sure, but this should be just the beginning.
  7. Fuck yeah. This was a massive prize for Ukraine. That bridge has been out of range of their missiles. Wonder how they got it.
  8. Yeah I don’t get it either. They can’t force him to play. Even if he comes back early, completes his suspension, and then sits, what are they going to do?
  9. I think Judge wins the award easy, but it’s amazing that Ohtani has more or less managed to replicate what he did last year (which is something I don’t think anyone expected).
  10. It isn’t their fault the rigged election was stolen.
  11. Paris had had a fantastic season. Near .800 OPS across two levels for which he has been quite young. Good on base skills. His strikeouts have been manageable. He has stayed healthy. And 32 stolen bases to boot. I’d assume he is a top 100-125 prospect.
  12. Wonder why he hasn’t been promoted yet. Also, comparing his stats with Diego Cartaya (one of the top catching prospects in baseball) - Quero is putting up similar/better numbers, at a younger age.
  13. This was my thought exactly. They won’t spend shit this off-season, and blew their chance to move Ohtani for the biggest possible return a month ago.
  14. They have a solid foundation with Ohtani, Sandoval, Detmers and Suarez. But they need two more reliable arms, preferably 2/3 types (given that they can’t score runs). They also need a first baseman, shortstop, left fielder, possibly right fielder, and a whole bullpen. Lots of work to do this off-season.
  15. Then maybe you mid-understood my initial point, which was simply that Adell’s early call-up has had (IMO) no negative impact on the player he is today. Whether he will be a failure or a superstar (I think he will be a complete bust, and I think that is obvious at this point), Eppler isn’t to blame for calling him up early.
  16. So did his premature call up have an impact on his development, or not? Please provide me your expertise and wisdom on this one. If you say it did, explain to me how two bad months in MLB could screw up a guy permanently? (And why if it did, that person isn’t soft and incapable of overcoming a little bit of failure). And if you say it did not, tell me how I am “pissing at the wind.”
  17. If Jo Adell was somehow ruined by a crappy two month call-up to the bigs, then he is way too soft to have a successful MLB career. I can’t imagine his premature call-up has had a shred of impact on his subsequent failures.
  18. Good summary, and I think you are right about the west holding those missiles back so as not to escalate. But I am sure eventually that won’t be an option. At some point, the west has to give Ukraine what it needs to destroy Russia.
  19. How would they take it out? I presume an air attack is out of question due to Russia’s air defenses. Presumably Ukraine has no sea craft capable of getting close to the bridge without detection. So does that leave a long range missile, launched from the ground, as the only option? And is it easy for Russia to shoot those out of the sky if the get launched from several hundred miles away
  20. Yes. Putin loves it so much, he inaugurated it by personally driving a truck across once construction was completed.
  21. Not sure if it has already been brought up on here, but I am curious what the military experts think of the Kerch Bridge. First, is there any realistic way for Ukraine to destroy it? And second, to what degree would destroying the bridge help Ukraine take back Crimea?
