I am. I know Biden has his cognitive issues, but it’s nice to have decency and honesty back.
-
Of course you fee that way. Your hero can do no wrong. It just isn’t possible that someone as honest, decent, and selfless as Trump could engage in criminal conduct, is it?

I love it. I hope the POS spends legit time in federal pound me in the ass prison.

What state are you in? My take on your situation is as follows: your employer can unilaterally elect to exempt you, unless you have a contract that says otherwise (which is never the case). They can also reduce your wage, so long as they still pay you minimum wage (or in the case of being exempted, double the minimum wage multiplied by 2,080 paid on a salary basis). But they shouldn’t do either without giving you some advance notice, especially if the re-classification results in you being paid less than what you would have been paid if paid on an hourly basis. I don’t think there is much you can do. If you were paid less because of the reclassification, ask them to pay you the difference for the time period from which you began being classified as exempt through the time period in which you were working when you discovered the reclassification. If they don’t pay it to you and you quit or get fired, and you reside in California, you might have a decent claim for the difference plus waiting penalties.

It isn’t about today. They have played 60 games, two full months. They are a .500 team, and their run differential proves as much. They aren’t making the playoffs.
-
This team is done. Fourth place, an even run differential, and no ability to beat good teams. They aren’t going to magically start winning, especially given that they have had relatively good health. Trade Ohtani and anyone else who can fetch prospects or cost controlled players. Play for the future.

Do you guys know why they put “no diving” signs on those little foot-deep kiddie pools? Not because people are stupid enough to dive into them - that will happen regardless. But because 12 random people fulfilling their constitutional duty were stupid enough to buy the argument “my client wouldn’t have dove into the pool and broke his neck if there was a label warning him of the danger in doing so.”

All of the above. Best win of the season.

And if he plays decently this whole year, he could absolutely be a QO candidate.

And the beautiful irony of a black man indicting a rich, racist, white former president. It’s a great day in ‘Meirca!

MLB Pipeline minor league system rankings: Angels 28th
wopphil replied to jsnpritchett's topic in LA Angels | MLB Daily
The problem with the farm is that we have so few legit position player prospects. The pitching seems fine, but after O’Hoppe and Neto, there is nobody who has (1) had sustained success at an upper level and (2) is still young enough to be a legit prospect. -
Desantis’ position on the war is terrible and a clear pander to the dumbass MAGA wing of the party. You know it’s bad when even Lindsey Graham doesn’t support the position.

I am shocked he had to settle for a minor league deal. He probably would have been a good addition for the angels (history notwithstanding).

I agree with all this. Something in the range of 12/500 is reasonable risk considering the totality of the circumstances. It’s a lot of money, but not more than the top players are making, nor for a longer period of time. It isn’t much different than what Judge got when factoring in age. That being said, I also agree that it might not be enough to sign him. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few teams willing to go to $45 mil plus, for 12 or even 13 years (I.e., $540 to $585 mil).

Is that a jello shooter in your hand?

I would have loved Andrus at this price, but I guess we don’t really have the roster space.
