NrM reacted to BTH in Arte Moreno talks to NY Post
Team > Player
Arte’s decision to not sell the team is way more important to the team than any Ohtani update.

NrM reacted to BTH in Arte Moreno talks to NY Post
To Heyman, maybe.
To Angels fans, the most important topic is why he chose to pull the team off the market.

Heyman got an interview because he was in Florida at the owners meetings.
Don’t go tooting Heyman’s horn too much. Basically all he asked about was Ohtani, and he ignored much more important topics.
He didn’t even ask Arte about his decision not to sell the team. That’s malpractice from a reporter.

NrM reacted to Second Base in OC Register: Warriors owner Joe Lacob confirms he’s considering bid for Angels
Then this is the guy you should be rooting for. He's the best owner in the NBA, the Warriors are the best run organization in the NBA.
He spearheaded getting his team into a fantastic new arena, and every big player that's wanted to stay with them, he's opened up the wallet to makes it so. The Warriors have drafted well and haven't been irresponsible in free agency or the trade market, which is why they've been the best team for the last decade.

I think everyone would be pleased with Lacob. He's shown he can run a championship organization at the peak of allowed payroll, and his political affiliation is pretty much right down the middle, and it doesn't appear that he has a batshit crazy daughter, which is always a plus.

NrM reacted to Pancake Bear in Latest on Angels sale
Yeah, he wouldn't be my first choice. All of them have money and are likely to spend. I don't want another Moreno type owner.
"A Japanese consortium is funding another and wants a good front man" - This one looks more interesting to me, since maybe Ohtani would be more likely to stick around with them, and maybe they bring in a Theo Epstein along with them.

Dude is legit. Rosenthal and numerous other writers follow him. Susan Slusser retweeted this. He later posted more info in an article:
https://undertheknife.substack.com/p/utk-short-123122?sd=pf
Relevant info:
"The Angels have several bidders. Patrick Seong-Shoon, who owns a piece of the Lakers, a hospital system, and the LA Times is leading one group. A Japanese consortium is funding another and wants a good front man. At least one group from minority Dodgers owners is circling a bid, if not actually making one. There’s some smaller characters around, but this is following the typical pattern. They’d like to select one ownership group well ahead of the season due to the unique Shohei Ohtani situation. Sign him, trade him, it needs to be dealt with relatively quickly."
And later,
"We’ll see how both these situations play out, but I expect the Angels to be first, perhaps getting to a preferred bidder ahead of spring training."

NrM reacted to Taylor in If the season started today.... POLL
82-86, miss playoffs. For the past eight seasons or so we go into it saying, "If everything goes right, this is easily a 90+ win team."

NrM reacted to BTH in Rob Manfred: The Angels are hoping to be sold before Opening Day
They are pretty tight-lipped around national reporters on signings/trades.
I’m not a fan of the tight-lipped theme around local reporters. I feel like fans get no insight. But I don’t know if that’s a product of the organization being tight-lipped or reporters focusing on reporting things after they happen and not looking to break news.
For example, it took a decade to find out about the technology lag under Dipoto’s regimes and Arte’s limitation of international signings.

NrM got a reaction from OhtaniSan in How the Angels burnt 1 billion
@Stradling where you at. He's talking big bad about your daddy.
For those who didn't watch because it was too painful.
"Arte Moreno is one of the greatest villains of the sports world and maybe the greatest villains Anaheim has ever known, and as a consolation, he'll probably sell his LA Angels for a cool 3 billion dollars. He made every wrong move and did everything the wrong way, the scummy corporate despicable way and is probably going to get an unthinkable 300% return on investment. The city of Anaheim lost, the Angels and their fans lost, Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani lost, baseball as a whole lost, but Arte won and you should hate even even more for that.

Sorry if old. It's too long for me to watch right now but it's right there if you want to. I have no idea how accurate it is but I am sure he will talk about Wells, Hamilton etc and of course Pujols.

Dude -- I pretty much stopped using everything else. If you want to cut down on the mess some are talking about, buy the parchment paper inserts -- makes a HUGE difference in cleanup.
