How the Angels burnt 1 billion

I watched it, filled me with rage cuz of how accurate it is.

The premise is how the Angels wasted 1 billion dollars of free agent signings through Arte's meddling and poor choices

If you don't want to watch, the summary is that Arte is a great marketer and despite wasting all that FA money and the failed Wells trade with terrible wins to dollars spent, he is still going to win in the end because he will probably sell the team for 3 billion after buying it for under market value from Disney. A HUGE, MONUMENTAL return on his investment.

Nah, I still vote for the 3,000th hit one as the worst.  It's just laughably bad!  I can't remember what it was made of.  I read it somewhere, but can't find it now.  It's like 3,000 bottlecaps or corks or something equally as stupid and random.

180 mill x 1.15 to the 20th power equals about 3 billion.  So 15% annualized.

It's nice seeing a youtube video that has an accurate view on the state of the Angels and how Arte has been the franchise's undoing. As opposed to the regular "angels suck cuz pitching bad" narrative that's spread by MLB network and less educated reporters/fans.

He did land Ohtani, and kept Trout, so there's that.

He made every wrong move and did everything the wrong way, the scummy corporate despicable way and is probably going to get an unthinkable 300% return on investment. The city of Anaheim lost, the Angels and their fans lost, Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani lost, baseball as a whole lost, but Arte won and you should hate even even more for that.

I tend to ignore things that make us fans look like victims. Poozy, if you’d like to be a victim because your sports teams owner spent his own money poorly go ahead. I’ll just hang out over here with the grown ups.

This is such a dopey way to look at this haha.  The Angels are a poorly run franchise.  There’s no doubt about that.  In a lot of ways. In almost every way to be honest.  
 

Basically every team spends money and doesn’t win.  Are they all “burning” money ?
