bucbrett reacted to Erstad Grit in CJ Wilson shut down again
I'm no CJ fan but some posts here are pretty poor. CJ is getting surgeries and even attempted to change his arm slot. Overall the deal hasn't been great but to label him as not caring or weak because he has had injuries is pretty lame. I doubt he'll help much this year but he's not even in the conversation for Angel's worst acquisitions.

I could build a 50 ft. castle with the amount of sand in all of your vaginas. The dude is hurt. Shit happens.

The issue isn't about his health it is about your imbecilic comments about his lack of courage. Every player ends up with health issues. Some like Weaver don't do the work to get back into shape, he started his rookie year pissing off the Angels for showing up not ready to pitch. He still doesn't do any real off season workouts, that is why his arm is jello every Spring training.
Wilson at least puts in the workout time to stay in shape, regardless if his joints don't want to always comply. He goes out there, like every guy, and works with what he has that day. Sometimes he spots well, sometimes he doesn't get calls, sometimes he has nothing but still tries to find a way. Nothing more difficult than toeing the rubber when you know you don't have control of your primary stuff and yet still wind up and deliver. Doesn't take much courage to be Jake Arieta last season, probably a bitch to be Jake in 2012.
I really don't care how frustrated you've been, Wilson is the guy he is and he hasn't been that bad of an acquisition for the Angels when he doesn't have a bone chip floating around his elbow. He makes an honest effort to be a starter. I can respect that.

Pussy? He has had three surgeries since joining the Angels. Ever rehab after surgery? It's a bitch, most people half ass it and never really complete the program and yet he keeps doing it just so he can compete. Each time he is in pain after the cut, each time he has to do his exercise no matter what else is going on in his life, has to sweat it out every day.
He could take the easy route and simply say I'm done, take the money and go play with his home beer making kit. Instead he's got the desire to play enough to put in the work to get back, no matter the setbacks. You should respect that.

bucbrett reacted to Inside Pitch in $18m Batting Practice Pitcher
He's likely done. I suspect he will be gone soon, it wouldn't shock me to see him walk away.
As hard as it is for us as fans to watch what's going on imagine being in his head.. He's turned over every stone the last few years trying to find a way to stave off the inevitable and none of it has worked. Forgive me but I'll choose to remember him for what he was and celebrate what he gave us instead of lining up to kick him as he exits.

The way I see it is there are guys that should be free of harsh criticism, Weaver is that kind of guy. It's obvious his stuff is gone, but he's had a top 3 career for an Angel starting pitcher. He's also signed a team friendly deal. He's had a great career and probably deserves credit.

bucbrett got a reaction from halobob in The Oilers are still horrible
This team sucks.
Alright I'll bump this thread next year when this franchise sucks once again. I just watch out of habit at this point. My eyes kinda glaze over by mid-second period. I fell asleep last night after the Sens went up 3-1. That was cool.
Also, just to save some time and so I don't have to post it in a few months- sorry guys, I know my team didn't deserve to win the lottery again. Also, I'm sorry, Auston Matthews. Pull a Lindros like Connor should have.

its an org problem.
just really really bad drafting and prospect development.
they way over value their players.
and they just refuse to trade them for D and goalie help.
I'm sure yet again they will draft a center/forward.
how sad it must be.
in 5-6 years top tier players like RNH or Hall have never played a meaningful game.
shultz is just done. what a waste.
yakupov looks terrible.
RNH and eberle are probably begging to get out.
hall is awesome though.
they have no botton 6 and an ahl team for defense.
if I'm them i keep mcdavid, one of drai/hall, nurse and turn the rest into d-men, a goaltender and veterans.
we'll take RNH to center rakell and perry.

The Nhl should rush to pass a change to the Draft rules. No way should the Oilers be allowed another 1st overall this year.

bucbrett reacted to Amazing Larry in Orange County Register: Angels complete coaching staff by hiring Scott Radinsky
This is awesome! Ten Foot Pole was one of my favorite bands in high school. I'll have to bring my Scared Straight 7" record to a game and have him sign it.
He's got a really cool life story. He beat Hodgkin's disease and owns a skatepark with the skateboard hall of fame.

bucbrett reacted to tdawg87 in Angels trade for Andrelton Simmons - Aybar, Newcomb, Ellis & $2.5mm to Braves $*#&
I kind of expected Ellis to be gone if this trade were to happen, but Newcomb? How in the hell?
We also just went back to having the worst farm system in baseball by a wide margin.
I mean, I really like Simmons. He locks down the SS position for the next 5 years. But there is no reason to give up your top 2 prospects along with your shortstop who is already pretty damn good himself. Aybar, Ellis, and a relief prospect I can get. But this is absurd.

nice to see they called up nurse, and then dr drai.
f*ckin A that's a lot of top 4 picks to have at any one time.
i would still trade a stud young d man for draisatl.
would be great move for both teams.
