MacNasty got a reaction from Chuck in Joe Maddon introduction
Haven't been this excited and happy about this team for a long time. Actually I'm more excited now than when they signed Sciosh. We're gonna win. All Arte has to do is open that checkbook and it seems like he trusts Maddon enough to do that. We're in for a beautiful era of Angels baseball.

MacNasty reacted to Tank in Little birdie...
no way. trout's busy fishing and getting fat. no way he'll be in shape to play CF next year
unless we trade him to the phillies, fulfilling his lifelong dream to play in front of his home crowd.

MacNasty reacted to DMVol in Little birdie...
If Eppler has Joe Maddon take his test, it reminds me of a story about Steve Spurrier....Spurrier had been fired by the Redskins and his old Florida job came open....The AD at Florida asked him to submit a resume if he wanted to apply....Spurrier said: "Look in the damn trophy case, that's my resume..." Kind of how I would feel if I were Maddon and Eppler asked me to take the test...

MacNasty reacted to Claude in LAT: Angels lease talks: Team says Anaheim name isn’t coming back; mayor says fine
Didn’t Disney hire Bill Stoneman 3 years before their championship? They made some good decisions. They could’ve chosen to trade some of the players you mentioned. They owned the team for 6 years so they absolutely should get credit for the championship. Dipoto took only 4 years to destroy the Angels. Disney certainly didn’t do that.

MacNasty got a reaction from Angel Oracle in The age of our rotation
I'm tired of pitching coming up short. So If I were the guy reporting to the boss on the product I'd go way beyond tinkering with a couple additions to ensure we're good and by God we might suck the next year but it wouldn't be from pitching.
I'd load a few new arms at a minimum who pitch to contact who can utilize our solid defense and ensure we can log innings. And a big name FA on top of that to head up the rotation.

MacNasty got a reaction from NrM in The age of our rotation
This conversation is the baseball equivalent of "check's in the mail." We have youth in the rotation so everything's gonna be good someday. And that may be correct.
But I'm sorta feeling like the landlord right now.

MacNasty reacted to Lou in So Cozart pretty much blows
I'd venture to guess that every GM misses on a majority of players they get.

MacNasty reacted to Make Angels Great Again in Attention TMobile users (free mlb.tv and atbat premium)
Just a heads up. They're doing their promo right now to get it free for the season. Usually only is up for a day or two so get it while you can. Gotta download their TMobile Tuesday app.

MacNasty got a reaction from yk9001 in New Angels Stadium in Long Beach?
Here's an interesting before & after for San Diego and Petco Park (link). Not sure of the exact years the photos were taken, however before that revitalization the downtown was terrible and now its a gaslamp district that is one of the finest downtowns you'll see. Stadium project is a windfall for the right area.

MacNasty got a reaction from Game 6 in Albert Pujols' swan song
I don't think it has to do with expectations. I think it has to do with his fundamental approach at the plate that he seems to have regained. And I think it's an interesting coincidence that happened with a change at the top with a new skipper. Alluded to this in the other thread, and I believe he is going to have an improved season. Not one of his old monster seasons necessarily, but definitely a better one.

MacNasty got a reaction from AngelsLakersFan in OC Register: Angels reliever Dan Jennings worried new rule will affect his career
What it is going to do in addition to speeding things up is increase runs scored. Which is another move meant to attract more casual fans in their greater numbers.
I hate it. Now when a reliever gets on the mound and you get that sinking feeling and realize he doesn't have his stuff you're gonna have to buckle up. That sucks. Not sure I will enjoy the game as much with this rule in place in fact pretty sure I won't.

MacNasty got a reaction from Game 6 in Pujols' Historic Decline Revisited
I agree his decline is strongly related to his plate approach. And I also suspect we're going to see a change there, interestingly enough. Course it's not like he'll go back to being the old Pujols or anything but I do think he will have a better than (an Angels) average season this year.
