I wish we could find a spot for Eddie Bane. Seems to me that our farm system took a giant leap forward while he was in charge of it. Also, a great communicator with the folks here at AngelsWin.
This is a good article. It does tend to focus on the negative, though. Newcomb and Ellis are both looking like front of the rotation guys. Add those two to Richards, Heaney, Skaggs, and the rotation looks better.
I can also see why the team was excited by drafting Ward. The Angels are in position to have starting pitching to trade, and that is a valuable commodity. Close the hole in LF, and I think we could be back sooner rather than later.
I like Cron, especially when he uses the whole field approach, and doesn't try to overpower everything. I hope he can get some regular ab's down the stretch.
We'll have Skaggs, Ellis, Newcomb, Nate Smith, and Gatto to go along with Heaney, Santiago, Shoemaker, and Weaver. We should have a couple of young, controllable arms to trade for an impact bat or two.
