    Embrace the suck.
Victory will be that much sweeter when it comes.  See 2002, and if a Kings fan, when they finally won the first SC.
Until then, explore new varieties of alcohol.  Or quantities.

I can see that. I’ve only seen it once but it did remind me of how we once talked to soldiers.

My name it's Patrick (known as PJ) to my brother Lou. My family and I have been following this since it was first posted and even created accounts. Most know by now that Lou passed peacefully in his sleep on August 8th at approximately 5pm while The Ocho was on TV (c'mon, you know he loved all sports even the weird ones, like Cricket). He constantly bragged about AngelsWin, all the fun times he had here and the trips to watch The Halos play, home and away with you guys. You all were his extended family and loved every minute he spent on here. To see him spend his last several days reading your posts and thoughts about him brought a smile (and tears) to his face, as it did his brothers and sister. All of us have also been keeping up with this post and you will never know how much we appreciate the love, memories, thoughts and especially the pictures you have shared. Our greatest memory with him was being in the front row at the left field foul pole for the Angels 2002 World Series win. All of us hugging and crying tears of joy at the site we thought we would never see. Close 2nd was Barry Bonds flipping us off during the game because Lou kept leading our entire section in a "sterrrroooooids!" chant while we were jamming a Thunderstick into our arms. Honor him by keeping his memory and stories alive. Celebrate his life. "LouDogg" was a smartass until the end and continued to make us laugh until his last breath.
    Sincerely,
    The Garcia Family

i've been chatting with @Lou over the last couple of weeks. he's in his own state of shock, and mentioned a couple of times that he couldn't believe this was happening. it moved on him very quickly.
no one has made me laugh more than Lou. i don't think i've ever run across someone who was as quick-witted as him, either. and then, when we were able to spend time in person, he was exactly the same as he was here in our community.
this has been a gut punch. love you, buddy.

Here we are in early August, the Angels are pushing for the postseason and Shohei is pitching tonight.  And yet... all I can think about is Lou.  A guy I've never met in person, but who I've "talked" to more than people I actually know well.  A guy who has had a unique impact on this board and those who frequent it.
As hard as this might be for some of us, I can't imagine what it's like for Lou. That's why I keep thinking about him.  That's why I keep praying for him.

Lou had done one of the funniest things to me ever here.  I had posted something, he edited and changed some wording, then I ran around trying to figure out why I said that.
I didn't want to say anything but as good a time as any, I have just recently joined the C club. I recently had a tumor removed and by all intent purposes it was a cut it out and you should be ok but the pathology came back with 2 growing in one.  A yay and a nay.  The nay is very aggressive.  Lot of gears shifting in my head right now.

    Just came across this…
This is heartbreaking. Lou’s been the best Angels forum presence since we started out on the ESPN boards. The intensity of how much I hate cancer is met by that of how much I appreciate Lou and his contributions.
He’s a really good dude and, more importantly: NOT A TROJAN.
I’m praying for you, @Lou. Love you, man.

I'm going to miss Lou. AW will never be the same for me. It just won't. He made this community better by being a part of it. His legacy will never fade. His legend will continue to grow.

Keep scrolling through this thread, waiting for Lou to pop up out of nowhere and say something hilarious in one perfectly timed sentence.
Gonna miss the comedy between him and @tdawg87, "with all due respect". Always liked that bit.

Good. I’ve heard he’s an awesome guy from multiple sources plus every time I’ve talked to him he’s been nothing but nice. The dude was thrown under the bus and now he gets his deserved payday. It’s a shame it he went through this bullshit.
