I've made fun of the guy, pretended not to know who he is, but you could see the frustration in his eyes when he felt something.  Nobody works that hard to get back if they are just about the money.  It's easy for us as fans to be hypercritical and demanding, but it's hard to dismiss the effort he's put in or the pain he clearly feels by not being able to pitch.
 
If that's all we see of Burnett, then we saw the best of him as he walked off the mound -- passion.   
 
I hope we get to make fun of him again this year.

Jeff, I think everyone's problem is the fact that Ibanez has little to no shot at getting back into form at this point. Considering his age, and his tailing off last year, he has shown zero signs that he will return to form. People wanna see Ibanez gone and RJ Alvarez. Bedrosian, or Sisk come up and further solidify this bullpen. At this point Ibanez is going to continue to provide negative contributions to the team while taking a roster spot that could be used for positive contributions.

What in the name of God? Ibanez is 6 for his last 57 batting .105/.177/.175 in that span, simply pathetic. That must make him the ideal cleanup hitter. 
 
And now Efren Navarro is up after sending down Maronde? Why the eff do we need him? CALL UP ONE OF THE PEN ARMS YOU DUNCES.

The pen is on Reagins more than Dipoto. Bullpens are built from within with a few free agent signings and trades thrown in. Jerry's young pen arms are going to be coming up shortly.

Madson was a cheap gamble, but don't act like Burnett didn't throw 56, 56, and 63 innings his prior 3 years before his arm fell off two weeks after playing for us.

Screw it, bring up Sisk, Morin, Alvarez, and Bedrock.
