    TBS was a huge deal in the south, and it was how I got heavily hooked on the Braves, even when the teams were bad. Before TBS and the proliferation of cable, we would get occasional Braves games at different times, usually on the independent stations.

    Locally, the Golden Knights are televising all of their games on a local independent station. All that I need is an HD antenna. BTW - I am finally kicking DirecTV to the curb and going streaming at the end of this month. Their response when I called them was to offer a package for $80 per month that lacked three of the channels that I told them that we watch regularly. I haven't decided what service or services to go to yet.

    Maybe, but apparently what the Mets did went far beyond what most clubs do.

    Another thing about the 1960s: All World Series games were day games, so both my fourth grade (1964, Cardinals-Yankees) and fifth grade (1965, Dodgers-Twins) teachers brought in a television from the A/V department so that we could watch the games in class.

    The 1960s. It was when I first became acquainted with the game. Players were heroes and seemed larger than life. Seeing a game on television was a rare treat, because we only got one game per week. Salaries were more in line with the general public, and players didn't constantly jump from team to team chasing money.

    Damn it. Just when it appeared that Cash had finally found a place that he could call home, he gets traded again. He was a key piece going into 2024.

    I gave up watching national news a long time ago. About the only time that I watch it is if something significant happens (natural disaster, etc.).

    Injuries have been the biggest issue. Adin Hill missed more than a month. Eichel, Karlsson, Carrier, Theodore, Martinez, Amadio and Hutton have missed substantial time. Dorofeyev is out. The team hasn't been anywhere near full strength apart from the opening stretch when they started 12-2.
