Any optimism that I might have had went straight in the bin after watching the holiday podcast. The guys always do a great job of analysis, but the main point is that we seem to discuss the same things year after year. This franchise has no apparent direction, there is a severe image problem that prevents players from wanting to come to the Angels, and the people who are in a position to change it are either oblivious to it or they are totally indifferent. There is penny pinching in areas that could actually help, and nothing seems to be changing.

I don't know how they would fix it. It's inherent with the arena. One of my gripes, and it only affects locals, is that the game day shuttles drop people off literally a mile from the arena. It's borderline undoable for us old people. Parking is grossly expensive, and the lines for the elevators at the parking garage after the game are ridiculous. I have only done the shuttle once, and even though I didn't dally around after the game, I barely made the last shuttle back. I was the only passenger on the bus.

I'm headed for the Las Vegas Bowl on Saturday. No particular allegiance, just have never seen Northwestern play in person.

IMO the portal should not be open until after the last bowl game has been played.

Throwing a lot of money at a player based upon one good year doesn't usually work out. There is a significant chance that his 2023 season was an outlier, rather than being indicative of him suddenly figuring it all out.
