If Arte doesn’t win out on Ohtani, he’s going to deal with the fans repercussions.  He HAS to sign Ohtani now.  

Well, i dont know what to make of that.
If hes pulling back because the truly wants to win... great.
If its posturing to get better offers or whatever, were fucked.

My thoughts…Trout is hungry to play in meaningful games and this is his opportunity.  I can’t blame him at all.  If playing in the WBC somehow leads to an injury that affects his season, I’d be disappointed but still wouldn’t blame him.  He’s given a lot to the Angels, only to be let down season after season.  

Our fans are fucking dumb.  If you think Ohtani is the only positive part of our rotation then I’m going to assume you are fucking clueless and your opinion is less important than knowledgeable fans. 

We’re not really calling them the Guardians, are we?

I mean it gets him out of the division, but knowing the Astros, they have three more guys waiting in the wings that will absolutely destroy Angels pitching and no one else at the most inopportune moments. 

I think he should spend every minute possible there until ST starts.  That's possibly the best his swing has looked, ever.

I have no idea if Adell is pissed or not (nor do I care). As far as anyone knows, he took the Angel logo or whatever he did off his IG because he's not on the team tight now... as in he's a whatever our AAA team is called, not an Angel.
That said...
Maybe 2 years ago I watched Adell his a big home run in the late innings. When he did so, he pimped it hard.
I commented on here that he needs to relax that shit. He needs to keep his head down and mouth shut until he's actually good. And a few people here rolled their eyes at me in the comments.
And here we are...
Don't announce you've arrived if you're still on the freeway, so to speak...
He's a very talented athlete, and I hope for the teams sake (and his) that he figures it out and ends up being a star baseball player.
But he also needs to accept reality. That as of now all the talent in the world so far hasn't translated to success. I have no idea what needs to happen for him to make it, and I hope he and his people figure it out and he crushes.
But until then, don't pimp a home run when you suck, on both sides of the ball, 90 percent of the rest of the time.

Adell was out there doing defensive drills every day in the second half. And a lot of time before that, too, but it was apparent more in the second half when it was religiously every day. Even on days when there was no BP and no one else on the team was doing anything on the field. And his defense did improve in the second half.

He's the type of guy to hop in a brawl and only try to cheap shot the guy already pinned down by his buddy.
 
 

Can any of you specifically detail what these observable attitude problems are? I rolled my eyes at the shoes or whatever it was but isn’t that adidas problem? Like why would Jo Adell not take these opportunities given to him? Seems kind of fucking stupid to begrudge him that tbh.  
 
and going back to the attitude stuff.  All we heard for years was “make up, make up, make up” “wow! what a work ethic” all that stuff.  Now we’ve got this all of a sudden because he unfollowed the Angels on IG and twitter (truly who gives a shit).  You guys suddenly have this scoop on him being a malcontent or whatever? Just seems like you guys are making shit up.  Sorry.  That’s what it seems like to me.  
 
Adell is a young guy.  The Angels have plainly signaled that he’s not going to be one of their guys in the OF this year.  His back ground is that of a high level prospect.  For several years *the prospect* for the Angels.  His pride is probably hurt or something.  I’m not going to psycho analyze him but to me that seems like a predictable response.  Blarg I think pointed out that he’s doing work at driveline.  That’s good.  He should he doing that.  Hopefully he gets his baseball shit together because it hasn’t been great as well all know.  Particularly at the major league level.  Which is what matters.  He’ll get another shot.  Maybe with the Angels.  Or not.  Whatever happens this speculation about his attitude or whatever based on no doubt the one on ones you guys have had  with him.  <jerk off motion> 

I think you could argue he was signed for more than that, but it was definitely a factor.

Well let's be real here, this is a community online discussion format for Angels baseball and all things baseball (and more).. 
Proposing trade scenarios has been part of this community culture for nearly two decades now and it's not going to ever stop. 

I don't trust anyone who's that happy all the time.  I bet he kicks his dog when no one is looking.  

It's hard to measure, but mindset and emotional state do factor in to playing your best. Having a guy who brings those kind of vibes is never a bad thing. Feels like many of the most successful teams - especially ones that surprise people and weren't necessarily expected to be great - are ones with a good clubhouse energy. 

I dunno whether Phillips is gonna certainly learn to hit, but I've gone from meh, to really liking it. 
That's the kind of guy you want in the clubhouse. I like it a lot.  

I think they'll add another starter, but it won't be via free agency. I think Perry is going to try to get an upside play injected into the rotation. Someone that can potentially be a game changer, or could simply end up being a reliever. 
There are too many possibilities in that scenario to even wrap my head around (it's pretty nuanced), but I think it'll come together via trade. 

The 4th outfielders main job is to be a defensive replacement and pinch runner, both of which he's good at. 
Also, the Angels are now 12 million under the tax threshold. That should be just enough for Michael Wacha. 

This signing is fine.  Not exciting, but the whole idea we have had is to raise the floor.  He is fantastic defensively, and I can envision him being a late inning defensive replacement often, which is how you would maximize value.  Even if he isn't hitting, which appears to often be the case, he is a positive value player because of elite defense and speed.
This will enable Moniak and Adell to start in AAA.  I like Moniak much better as a 5th OF than as a 4th OF.
Our position players are set now, I would say.

He’s a super good guy. Not a great player but a good clubhouse guy. 

Great signing!! He's a great outfielder defensively, which is what you want in a 4th outfielder. 
If one of our core OF's go down with an injury you bring one of Adell or Moniak up from AAA.
