I don’t think the other “top” prospects will bring us back what Adell would bring back.
How about Adell and Canning for Chris Paddack? I’d strongly consider that.
I can’t believe we’ve gotten to this point that I’m about to say, but what if our best bet for an ACE is to trade Adell? We have Marsh who can take over, but probably not till next year. So would we do Adell for Clevinger straight up? I’d have to consider it which pains me to say. We do have Marsh to take over RF and Adell would bring more back in a return.
I’m highly disappointed after great expectations and hype leading us to believe Angels would go far and wide to land an ace. The off-season is obviously far from over. But not sure there is a game changer (Ace) that Eppler can get without trading Adell. Kluber was the main one I wanted after Cole.
I think it’s at the point that the Angels have nothing to lose by going out and paying high on Ryu. With the additions of Bundy and Teheran who can provide innings, and with the 6 day usage of Ohtani, it’s set up perfectly for the addition of the oft injured Ryu. His upside is too great for the Angels to not go and get him. Eppler needs to make it happen.
I wonder if the whole Boras thing saying Keuchel has taken notice of what the Angels were doing was just another ploy to get more money/yrs from the White Sox. Good move on his part.
I know the off season isn’t over, but I wonder what Rendon will think/is thinking that he took a lesser amount this upcoming season to help with starting pitching when all Angels have gotten is Teheran.
Anyone have any other ideas for trades? Everything points Angels having to sign Keuchel and make a trade in order to sign two SPs. Keuchel is sitting back knowing Angels HAVE to get him and they will have to overpay. Then that leaves the Angels making a trade for a modest priced SP such a Syndergaard or Ray or Gray. Who else are possibilities?
I don’t see it either. But if Arte wanted an all in 2 year run, Lindor and Kluber, would be the ones to get. Still more pitching would be needed. But man, Lindor added to this lineup would be downright scary for opposing pitchers.
