  1. It's kinda frustrating that the Angels can't get someone that has a track record of hitting and then actually hits when in an Angels uniform. How many home runs does Nelson Cruz have? More than some teams combined.
  2. I revisited this article with a former mentor of Josh's. He really should retire and get his life right, especially now he's divorcing. And this article is very interesting that things have been off with him since the middle of last season. I can really see why the Angels have taken such a strong stance like they have. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2015/02/26/josh-hamilton-relapse-mlb-suspension-roy-silver/24060571/
  3. On second thought, I don't think Hamels is enough to entice me to take on Howard and his .176 Avg and 0 HRs and 2 rbis.
  4. A package of Hamilton and the two CJs for Hamels and Howard?
  5. Are there any players out there worth trading contracts with?
  6. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/04/hamilton-angels-discussing-resolution-of-dispute.html Angels and Josh are talking of a resolution. Hopefully this gets resolved ASAP.
  7. Yes I do agree with what you said, and in no way am I saying addiction isn't real and it's someone's choice to be an addict. Nobody goes down that route thinking that they will become addicted. I just think this go around for Josh, he just had a very weak moment that resulted in a bad choice. At the end of the day, we are all accountable for our actions.
  8. I'm not sure why I would make it up that my girlfriend has experience. She lived 18 years with an addict and dealt with relapse firsthand. Her ex had been clean with a family and DECIDED to use again. Someone may struggle with weight and you choose to either eat unhealthy foods and gain wait or you choose to eat healthy and exercise (see Dr. Phil). To say someone doesn't have a choice is quite ridiculous. We all have choices in life. He chose to find a way to get money (since he didn't carry any), drive to score a rock or whatever, and the decided to put it in his body-talking about Hamilton. He had been clean long enough to think clearly enough to make better CHOICES.
  9. Beatlesrule, Yes maybe that's true. It's a mental health issue. With that said, when someone learns that can get away with something without penalty, it only enhances that urge to do whatever is being done, in this case drugs. There has to be some sort of penalty. Perhaps the penalty is that this whole thing is being played out in front of the world. I don't know who decides what's appropriate.
  10. I haven't commented yet, but was talking to my girlfriend about the Hamilton issue. She is not a baseball fan and is completely unbiased. She does however have some first hand experience with addiction to the same drugs Hamilton has experience with. Anyways, her response to addiction being a choice, she said addiction IS a choice after being clean for so long. He chose to go out and seek cocaine this go around. She also said he should have some penalty for this so that he feels a "sting" for his actions. Anyways, I thought her take was a good one and unbiased.
  11. The more and more I think of this trade, I think it's a heckuva trade for Dipoto. Joyce is a quality player on the field and in the clubhouse. He sold Jepsen high, and I doubt Jep comes close to last years stats. Meanwhile, Joyce will be consistent offense, I hope, in the #2 spot. And the "I hope" is for batting 2nd. I have confidence that he'll hit.
  12. WOW! Man I will miss Howie, but this is what's best.
  13. Last 10 starts of the 2014 season look like this: http://mlb.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=429717#gameType=%27R%27 I'd say he has more left in the tank, and is more promising than CJ. I posted it here but was all garbled. Will have to click on the link and see right there his last 10 games.
  14. That was before the report of Dodgers paying his $10 mil salary. So he's a free pitcher to the Marlins. Though the Dodgers will probably put something in the deal that he can't be traded prior to the season.
  15. Hearing that the Dodgers will pay Haren's $10mil salary. So if Marlins get a "free pitcher" and he only wants to play in SoCal, then maybe we can trade a low level prospect for him and have him as 4th or 5th starter. Now this only suits me if we trade Wilson. I think Haren is an upgrade from Haren, but not much.
  16. Reports Jon Heyman. Angels aiming higher??? "Angels left-hander C.J. Wilson is available in trade, rival GMs say, causing some to wonder whether they might be trying to set things up for a big run at a bigger pitcher, either via free agency (Max Scherzer, James Shields) or trade." http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/writer/jon-heyman/24872645/cj-wilson-is-available-in-trade-could-la-be-aiming-even-higher
  17. I had my tv on mute, was it lower half or upper half that was injured?
