The Angels will be just as good as the Phillies in 2020. Literally the only reason for him to go there is if he truly wants to just play for his childhood team. That’s literally the only reason. It’s not to play with douchebag Harper. If Harper was still with the Nats Trout wouldn’t go there just to play with Harper.

You have to believe Trout’s getting tired of all this. I whole heartily believe he is. I bet even his family is getting worried about it distracting him from playing the game. I doubt his family likes all this hounding Trout is getting.

It could simply be comments or answers to questions here or there as well. Trout has been in a clubhouse with Weaver, who turned down huge money to stay here, with Hunter, who wanted to come back here, with Upton, who waived a NTC and quickly re-upped to stay here and avoid FA again, with Ohtani, who could’ve chosen to go literally anywhere, with Pujols, same reasons mentioned above, with Hamilton, who crumbled and had to be traded back to a safe zone, and with Scioscia, who was bestowed two decades of loyalty. 
There’s a chance absolutely none of that matters, but I’d tend to believe the opposite. All of those experiences Trout has been through in the clubhouse bode well for our chances I think. 
I still think Trout signs an extension - I think there’s a good chance it still happens this spring - and that will be that. If he doesn’t, it’s been an absolute thrill, I’ll pin my hopes to Adell and Ohtani, hope the Angels make great use of the freed up money, and breathe a little sigh of relief knowing we won’t have to worry about seeing something awful happen like a sharp, abrupt decline with years and tens of millions remaining. 
Can’t wait for Opening Day!

Mike Trout was already annoyed by the "come to Philly" comments this past offseason, and now with Harper signing there and recruiting him, it will send the phans into overdrive in their annoyance.  Mike Trout won't even be able to leave his ranch without being annoyed by this crap.  As someone that avoids the spotlight at all costs, this is going to wear Trout out.  He will want to sign an extension sooner rather than later jsut to get the entire world off his back. 
So yeah, keep the comments coming. Keep the articles coming.  Keep exciting the phans for nothing at all.
Every time you do, it bring Trout closer and closer to signing an extension with the Angels just so that he can distance himself from that crap for 6 months out of the year.

this has nothing to do with being butt hurt. it has everything to do with a player doing something that is against MLB rules and us not letting him get away with it. 
 

All this is doing is convincing Trout to sign an extension with us. I doubt he wants to put up with this shit the next two years.

Another example of how a Trout signing in Philly could backfire....is Albert Pujols. 
Wouldn’t it be ironic if, in private conversation and probably not this overtly, Pujols told Mike that he should’ve stayed in St. Louis, taken less money, and played his career out in front of fans who appreciated him until the end, rather than taking a payday to wind up criticized and badgered and in some cases loathed as his career came to a close as he declined?
Would Bert have been worth it all at the end?

The thing that cracks me up most is all the talk about Trout wanting to win which is why he'll leave the Angels.....and supposedly sign with the Phillies. This is a team who has had even less success than the Angels have since Trout broke into the league. There's no doubt that the Phillies are primed for improvement after the offseason they just had, but who is to say the Angels won't have a similar offseason in 2019? All these 1yr deals tell me they are gearing up to get this Trout extension done, and once that is out of the way, they'll be aggressive in FA and in trades during the 2019 offseason. PHillies and Angels both finished 80-82 last season, but now the Phillies are looked at as some future contender because of one big offseason where they signed a few guys and made a big trade whereas the Angels are supposedly some lost cause for Trout

It's disrespectful to angel fans with Harper actively trying to get him to avoid signing an extension and leave the angels. Some of us would actually like to keep him, if that ever crossed Harper's mind. It's not like Trout's a free agent.

Stop getting bent at what these dolts are saying -- there are some great ones out that do a tremendous job of reporting news and keeping people informed but some of these guys are just trying to create stories.   
As these two posts show, situations change -- sometimes dramatically...   What's true today will not be true two years from now, what's "click-worthy" now may be laughable tomorrow.  The Angels and whether or not Trout will stay figures to be the biggest story in MLB for some time, at least until some shiny new toy shows up that's deemed "click-worthy"...  There are going to be a lot of bad takes put out there and people will run with it because "sheeple".

Just keep hoping the Angels do it right, and rebuild the team for the long haul.

If the Angels offered Trout a ton of money but he elected to test FA and sign with the Phillies, I would probably curse Philly and disown Trout. 
I'm an Angels fan first,  players come a distant second, but Trout is so special that it would hurt really bad if he left, so it would be really hard for me to root for him if he divorced himself from my team.
