  1. Simmons and Cozart will say to ground balls, "None shall pass!"
  2. Trout, Simmons, Cozart, and Maldonado all win Gold Gloves.
  3. Tdawg once said something like...that every man on here wants Alex Curry; If they don't they are either gay or a communist. But I'm sure he said it much better.
  4. Happy Stinkin' New Year everybody!
  5. I would add Hubs, Scotty, & AJ into that category of Doc, ettin, IP for detailed, informative, and thought provoking posts Glen and Geoff for writing and humor Angel Oracle for Venter-In-Chief (and knowledge of the Angels in the 60's / 70's) Lou for liking the Bruins and many more...
  6. I miss the days of slappy types: Adam Kennedy David Eckstein Reggie Willits Chone Figgins Erick Aybar Maicer Izturis It seemed like you could find Izturis and Figgins at any position on the field. They were both probably 2B that played more at 3B due to needs. These were all productive players and Scioscia was right to use them, but so darn slappy. Extra credit for batting Izturis 3-4-5 in the lineup.
  7. For the rotation I wouldn't mind to see something like this in an effort to keep opposing lineups off balance; mixing handedness and velocity for the first 4, and then right handers 5-6 (what we got). 1) Richards (hard throwing righty) 2) Skaggs (lefty) 3) Ohtani (hard throwing righty) 4) Heaney (lefty) 5) Shoemaker (righty) 6) Bridwell or Tropeano (righty) (with the other at AAA) Swingman from the bullpen JC Ramirez
  8. Sign Bartolo Colon on a 1 year pillow contract. Convert him to 1B. The guy can swing a bat. Make him a part time DH/RHP. He also has the right body type to play 1B. Have him retire and go into the HOF as an Angel.
  9. Getting Upton and LF locked up early allowed the Angels to focus on other needs, like Ohtani, Kinsler, Cozart, and additional international signings. So, it's all good.
  10. I remember when Prince Fielder was still on the market after we signed Albert. I thought his market might cool off. But the Tigers, Ilitch, and Dombrowski, stepped in and gave Boras/Prince the 9 year, 214 million deal. The Tigers won't save Boras this time.
  11. Angel Oracle hasn't vented about anything in the past 10 minutes.
  12. You could also check if your employer has any ticket programs. Ours has Ticket Monster Perks so we can get discounts on amusement parks, movies, etc. Haven't tried it yet for sports, but so far so good on the other stuff.
  13. I'm all for adding one more major piece, but there are a few out there, Harper, Arenado, Donaldson, Longoria, Darvish, Arrieta, Machado, etc. If we go for one it may take us out of the running for the others. I'd plan first who we really want to target. Or just extend Trout instead.
  14. I remember Reagins showing up a day late after Crawford had signed, and seeming flustered, stunned, and sad. Not at all the image of a smart, prepared GM executing his plan. At least Dipoto appeared smart.
  15. I didn't see Simmons, Upton, or Phillips coming. I think Eppler does surprise us. Wish I knew who...
  16. I hope that he announces this will be his final season and retire. I expect him to announce next year that 2019 will be his final season. Bottom line Angels and Albert need to talk to each other and see where they're at.
  17. I like Todd Frazier for 3 years, just solid and not a star. Pujols and Valbuena can handle first. CJ gone...
  18. Eppler is a true professional. All those years of working at NYY with huge contracts, personalities, and media attention is paying dividends.
  19. We finally have a prospect that cracked the Top 100.
  20. I think Eppler has more tricks up his sleeve, but I have no idea what they are...
  21. Brilliant move by Dipoto. When the Red Sox took infielder Hanley Ramirez and placed him in the outfield it worked out well. Probably following that model.
