beatlesrule got a reaction from hats4bats in St. Louis definitely won the Freese/Bourjos trade
Salas has a 2.97 era. That's pretty darn good considering his role.
What are the point of these whiny threads? There aren't any takebacksees. Dipoto made the trade. Live in the now. Last I checked, PB was hitting like .230 and Grinulkchuvk was still a prospect doing nothing. Cheese and rice people!

beatlesrule got a reaction from Tank in Street Trade Poll
Well, you'd think 4 prospects would get you a SP but I guess the competition for Street was high and the Angels had to include those players in order to give the Padres the best deal. The one guy I really was bummed to see leaving the Angels is Rondon but hopefully they can find a new SS successor to Aybar. Our bullpen is one of the best now and that has me excited for the postseason.

beatlesrule got a reaction from Lou in Lock Richards Up Long-Term?
What's with the jumping the gun today? No need to buy out his arb years. This is his first reason season that he has pitched really well. It would be wise to go year to year and see if he progresses and is really the pitcher he is right now.

Can anybody in the porn industry answer this. I'm curious as well.

beatlesrule got a reaction from Butcher'd in Albert Pujols' Baserunning Effort
If Trout ran more, Pujols wouldn't be able to gidp's nearly as much. Scioscia had Ibanez hitting 4th for awhile and he was brand new to the team. Pujols has been here for over 2 years and is a hall of famer with a massive contract. There is no way Scioscia's stubborness is going to move him out of the 3 hole. Please just get used to it. You will sleep easier at night knowing that Scioscia and Pujols have lost their minds.
I put all the blame on Arte. He is the one that gave Scioscia that 10 year contract and he is the one that let's him have so much power. Aside from a massive protest from fans, Scioscia is our manager for another 4 years and Pujols is probably our number 3 hitter for at least that long. Is this a reasonable assumption? I asked David Puddy's 8 ball jacket and it says all signs point to yes.

You don't trade a guy, or trade for a guy, based on what they did in the past. You base it on roster need and what you think they will do in the future. Angels obviously didn't feel they were going to get anything more out of Bourjos than they were out of guys they already had - Calhoun, Cowgil, or even Shuck. So far it looks like they were right. Where they were wrong was in thinking they could get decent production out of Freese. But again, there was a glaring need for a 3B, so I get it.
I'm not a huge fan of the trade, but I'm sick of people acting like Bourjos was this great player with huge upside.

Aybar, Kendrick, CI and CJ are valuable to playoff teams as are some others. They can get us some younger talent in return and, more importantly, clear out payroll for next year. This team needs to start playing the youngsters everyday and look towards next year. Since Pujols and Hamilton are untradeable, trade the players you can that have no long term future here and that can help GOOD teams right now.

beatlesrule got a reaction from Angel Oracle in Is Scioscia all there?
A lot of us here and many sports writers questioned the contract from the beginning and so far, everyone has been right.

Another postgame comment prediction, "I have another 4 years on my contract so I can do whatever I want."

There has got to be something going on behind the scenes. This move is incredible bad otherwise. If message board posters are smarter than ownership, it's going to be a long season.

How dare you question Sciosica. He helped win a World Series 12 years ago for crying out loud! Arte loves him so you should too. You have at least another 4 years of Scioscia lineups waiting for you.
