Such a bullshit post AJ.  None of the actual republicans I know want any of those things except possibly less illegal immigration.  What we want is for our tax burden to be less.  You look at Republicans the way Claude looks at Pujols. You create a narrative that demonizes us that isn't based on reality.  I encourage you to come to OC and find out for yourself if how you describe republicans is the reality out here.

I am sure LAPD knows but they won't release information until they are sure and until families are notified.

Gawd.....I feel for the dad (and other parents here). But this asshole has no regrets for his actions, thinks it was funny to kill three innocent women.
I'd like to destroy this guy.

Walking out of RiteAid on Thursday, I noticed a sherriff's patrol car parked directly behind my car. As I approached I realized he was in the process of having the car next to mine towed away. I see an older leader (like 70) starting to cry. He's telling her that there is nothing he can do because they've been directed to tow all cars with expired registrations over 6 months old. She's pleading with him, saying she needs her car to get to the doctor and pick up her medications. He continues to tell her there's nothing he can do (obvious bullshit).
At this point, she starts saying she has no way to get home. Obviously talking to herself since the cop is ignoring her. I tell her not to worrying about that, I would give her a ride home. Finally, he turns and says," If it was under 6 months you would just be getting a warning, ma'am "
I take a look at her tags and they say DEC 2015. I realize immediately that even if they expired on Dec 1st, it would still be under 6 months. I ask him if it was under 6 months, he would really let it go with a warning. After he replied with a "yes", I pointed out to him that it actually is under 6 months. After a minute of doing the calculations, and yes his mouth was moving as he used his fingers, he realizes his mistake. After a couple of minutes of him looking embarrassed he tells the lady that he's going to let her off with a warning. Then he mumbles something about how he's glad he didn't have to tow her car. F'ing nimrod.

And the last regular season weekend for the 2016 season is upon us.
And in the Big West, it again comes down to LB and Fullerton battling for the BWC title in a 3 game winner take all series at Blair Field (Thurs-Sat).
LB owns the tiebreaker if going Meatloaf on Fullerton.
Baseball America now has both ranked in the Top 25.

In spite of Nick Cage, this looks pretty good.  And, I will see it to honor these men and their service.
I remember seeing the "Jaws" scene the first time.  It was so powerful, that I was motivated to study-up on the incident.

Check out the documentary Milius. In it, Spielberg talks about how he had a bunch of people try to write Quint's dialogue for this scene. Finally, John Milius wrote it and then Robert Shaw edited it down to the version that was finally recited in the scene. Spielberg said that he knew if this scene wasn't powerful enough, the entire movie would have been screwed (I'm paraphrasing).

Summer Sanitarium, August following Senior Year of High School, 2003. Mudvayne, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Metallica.

Drove my 1970 Cougar to the event with a HS buddy. After drinking copious amounts of alcohol, we walked to seats at the USC Coliseum, think they were 90 bucks. Dying to get in the pit. After LP played, yelled at some guy walking up the steps with a pit wristband "Hey, I'll give you 40 bucks for your pit wristband!" He's down for it. Thing is loose, flexible, it fits.

Ditch the high school homie, slip on the wristband, and head down to the pit.

Bizkit gets boo'd off stage with middle fingers at Fred Durst.

Metallica comes on, I'm in the pit the entire time, thought I was going to die. I got so close, and they played all the greats.

    Won't ever forget that one.

I think there used to be this thread on the old forum, but not here....or it's buried.
I have a few, but I'll come up with others. Where to start:
Glassjaw took a long break a long time ago then 6-7 years ago (I think) did four California shows with classics and new material. I went to LA, SD, and Glasshouse in Pomona. At the time I thought it may be my only shot. I met the band before the show across the street at the bbq spot as we sat down and my buddy told me to look at the table next to us.
The Get Up Kids is one of my favorite bands and they did a farewell tour however many years ago. I thought it was my only chance to do a bucket list item. It was pretty epic at the Glasshouse...they ended up getting back together and I got a picture with them at the next gig many years later.
Russian Circles was a long time bucket list but they never came out this way. My ex got me tix for my bday, I believe a year ago. It was one of those things where it was epic, but I'm too old to stand for x amount of hours.
Thrice. Two shows, one was here at HOB (that ended up being a live album), just epic and the crowd being a homecoming show was energized. Don't remember the year. The other show was they announced a farewell tour but I missed out on tix as they sold out like Coachella. I ended up getting tix in Portland and my ex and I headed up. Such a great trip and experience. Thinking it was the end the show was epic and endearing. Dustin even played a little secret location acoustic set after....which ended up being moved to behind the venue.
One band, two separate shows. Explosions in the Sky was a huge bucket list item for many years but never really played. Word spread they may be done around 2011 and I saw they were playing in Columbia, MO...fairly close to family in KC. I visited family and my cousin and I went with friends. It's a three hour drive and we listened to the Masters on the way there. Long story short is we ate brownies and it was pretty damn epic.
The second show was two part and still my favorite. The band released a new album I believe in 2011 and did a early release thing at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Basically you walked in and they handed you a map. You walked through the entire place finding these spots where they set up some kind of media, video, art piece...some kind of art display and a song from the new album was at each location and looped (they are an instrumental band so it was only five long songs). The next night they actually did the concert in the great lawn area. They encouraged picnic baskets of drinks and food. It was as epic as before, but the whole atmosphere and vibe was unforgettable. Hands down the best event musically I've ever gone to.

If there is another thread about this topic mods please merge. One of my favorite concerts was the Monsters of Rock tour at the coliseum in 88. Van Halen, The Scorpions, Metallica, Dokken, and Kingdom Come. I was on the floor of the Colisiem and when Metallica started the crowd rushed the stage and we were standing on our seats which collapsed. It was crazy but one hell of an event. What's your favorite concert?

I am a fan of police.  I have friends and family in the service and understand the difficulties of their job but there also needs to accountability.  If you fire a lethal weapon at an innocent person you need to lose your job if not face jail time, and lose your right to have a gun.  I feel like we keep making excuses for the officers to excuse their actions when we are talking about attempted murder!  If any of us emptied our guns on a paper delivery truck with 2 women in it we would go to jail for a long time. There are a lot of cadets out there looking for a city to offer them a job.  If we could start holding police accountable for their actions and showing them that they can be replaced easily then we would have a lot of cops think twice about using deadly force  in situations that clearly don't require it.  Taking a life shouldn't be easy.  Lets follow the rules we learned in Top Gun "Do not fire until fired upon".
