I really don't care what the farm system ranking is as long as it can provide the team with a flow of quality MLB players. Having an overstock of lean ground beef is not the same as a couple good steaks.

Staying in AAA is not better for him. It's time for him to figure out ML hitters

For all of those times when we're down seven late in the game, at least we would have someone who might lead a touchdown drive.

Just not a good sign when it is your half 3 innings in a row, I think.

he's obviously hurt. he's been exceptionally good for his career and with the angels. he started off well this year, then developed an injury and he hasn't been right since. fans tend to behave like children when they don't get what they want from a player right now. give the guy a break. he's been a very good angel closer and he's hurt.

One of the biggest things to bear in mind whenever Scioscia leaves is who manages next? It's not like it's an easy or assured process to drop in a new manager and know there will be success or a positive change throughout the organization. 
It could blow up just as badly as Dipoto did. He fit the mold of who most of us wanted as a GM, and here we are a year later, with many of us, even his supporters, looking back at his time with markedly less favorable views.
I'd welcome a managerial change when it comes - 17 years already has been sufficient - but I'm not going to be nearly as optimistic or excited as most are going to be.

I think that's about 90% of it right there. The org is trying to reduce a severely bloated payroll, and most likely isn't going to contend in the next year or two anyway. Why pay Mike Scioscia millions of dollars to NOT manage the team? Might as well wait it out another 2 years and hope Arte is smart enough to never give another manager that kind of contract again.
I'll add that with the way things are going this year, the situation is ripe for players to revolt and for things to get truly ugly. That hasn't happened and we haven't heard or seen of anything, so I have to think the players are still OK with Mike. Again, no point in changing now.

I think that was the point. A guy who is in the 31st round probably isn't high on an advance metrics list.  But he could still make the Bigs despite that. 

Awaiting Scotty to tell us he told us so...

why now though?  The team is a disaster.  What manager high quality manager are you going to lure here at this point?

There are a lot of things that this team needs to address before they should even consider changing the Manager. 

I get that some people hate on Scioscia but this year is possibly the worst example of a year that should be blamed the manager. 

Like defensive shifts?  Or using technology to tell when a pitcher's pitches are losing spin rate?
