shellback reacted to Chuck in I will say this for Dipoto...
No to Bud Black. He'll just trade for a bunch of lefty bunt slapping middle infielders as directed by his hefe.

If laugh but our glass house seems to always have contracts on the books, long after the player is gone.
I could be wrong, but aren't we still paying Albie Pearson?

It worked for the Skanks in the 1950s/1960s, making the KC A'th their AAA affiliate.

that sort of assumes that anybody gives a shit about the all-star game in the first place.

she was probably infinitely better at preventing inherited runners from scoring.

Weave has never been a HOF caliber pitcher.
Weave has though always been HOF like in how he competes every start.

Once the game is over I flip the channel. I'm not interested in any of the nonsense going on in post game interviews. It's all bs anyway.

shellback reacted to Stradling in Kaleb Cowart on fire!!
He would solve a lot of our problems if he ever panned out to being a league average third baseman offensively. I have only heard good things about his defense. If he could become David Freese on offense and very good defensively, then you could move Kubitza to LF. It will take more than 10 game but he is on the right track and maybe this will help his confidence levels a bit.

shellback reacted to ettin in Ethier For Wilson Rumors
It makes more sense with Ethier at DH not in LF. His defense is in decline. There are other options for LF that are better defensively although whether they are available or not is another matter. There are also other options (Lind for example) that would be just as effective at DH and might not cost a lot.
I really think Dipoto will try to trade Wilson but not to the Dodgers. He'd rather try to get most if not all of Wilson's 2016 salary off the books in my opinion. If he ate most of the rest of Wilson's salary this year in trade and throw in 1-2 prospects he could get a significant piece back in return from another team.
Ethier's certainly a proven veteran but he is a platoon bat only. His numbers against LHP are abysmal.

well no, the cardinal thread reminded me of my envy for thier team concept.

jim edmonds referred to st louis as "baseball nirvana". its appearent that traditionally the players there are having fun playing and dont look like galley slaves pulling at the oars. more about attitude and having fun playing a kids game with the focus on team and not on individual retirement planning.

Prayers go out for her recovery.
This also may me think back to when Steve Yeager had a broken bat hit him around the neck in the on deck circle in the mid 1970s, which ultimately led to the neck protection being worn by catchers.
