eligrba got a reaction from ScruffytheJanitor in Is this the worst the rotation has ever been?
Well, I remember a rotation of Tanana, Ryan and three days of crying.

Would things be better if the attendance was similar to the Rays?

eligrba got a reaction from Angel Oracle in Pitch Sequence or White?
Cam has served up 2 grand slams for the Astros this season. He is having a good year statistically but he still seems to have trouble at crucial times. I think how Cam is used is more indicative of his performance this season than his stats. I have no confidence in Cam when inheriting runners on base.

Hopefully the fries weren't served. No need for Tyler to die again.

eligrba reacted to Angel Oracle in What's our rotation now?
Peters pitched well, deserves this Saturday's start on Japan Night/Trout hat Night.
Give Cole whatever he wants after the season.

Every time I try trading @Lou I only get "maybe" as the result.

Archer is the guy that never reaches his potential and yet teams keep picking him up thinking they can fix him. See Edwin Jackson as a comparison. The guy shows brief periods of being a top of the rotation starter then craters. And yet for the last decade there is the get Edwin Jackson pleas in threads involving trades or free agents. Archer is that guy, in 2016 he fell off and has never gotten back to league average. And league average is bad in comparison to other decades.
The Angels have spent enough on reclaimation projects. It's time to spend on guys that are not a huge question mark and hoping to solve the suckage equation.

@SlappyUtilityMIF does a nice job of explaining some of the basic mechanics distinguishing pitching from throwing. I would predict that some AW posters could dissect a golf swing with an equal amount of precision despite not being professional golf coaches. Langston has consistently pointed out problems with the pitching that "should be obvious" to the people in charge.
Clearly something is not working for the pitching staff. At this point, whatever is being done is not working, has not worked and will probably never work with the current players. @Dochalo does a nice job of describing some of the issues that have plagued the Angels pitching staff this season. I think the problem is deeper than "the pitchers suck."

If @Tank doesn’t know you, you do not exist.

Solid work by Canning after a recent slump
Buttrey and Undertaker are locked in now. Just need solid pitching now to bridge to them.

Is this true?
That has to be the dumbest approach to pitching I have ever read. I guess the game has passed me by. I thought the purpose of pitching was to disrupt the batter's timing by changing speeds, location and movement.
