  1. Niemann is someone I'd like for us to sign to a minor league deal and have him duke it out for the 5th spot. If we can't get an okay starter on a 1 year or get a good pitcher for Howie (although I think we need to eventually trade him while he still has value, he seems to be very overvalued in the league), then screw it, just go with what we have.
  2. I go back and forth in whether we have to put all our chips into competing right now, or err on the side of re-building/less commitments and hope our current rosters has what it takes to compete right now. It's a tough call, I'm glad I don't have to make it.
  3. Darvish must be thinking, "Not ****ing fair."
  4. I've given up caring about the HOF, it's a complete farce that deserves absolutely no respect from me.
  5. I think 1996 is the first Angels team I remember following to some degree. I wasn't unfamiliar with the Angels before then, but it's hard to count that when I don't have any real memories from it.
  6. I'd be cool with bringing Frankie back.
  7. It seems like they were only trying when they were looking for pitching. After they traded Trumbo, they could have used Kendrick to replace him in the lineup or go after pitching, it probably opened up a lot more options to get good value for him.
  8. If you check out his splits, his relief numbers are actually worse than his starting numbers.
  9. I think If you wait until the all-star break, you risk his perceived value dropping. Besides, I don't think he's as good as you're making him out to be.
  10. Mulder wasn't even that good when he was last healthy.
  11. In regards to this off-season, even though I hated the Bourjos deal because it was completely underselling him (and they seemingly threw Ghrichuk in unnecessarily,) but what I'm disappointed in is that they're not trying to trade Howie. You don't trade Howie just because you need pitching, you trade him because it's the right time, he's overvalued in the league because he's a second baseman and he's good at overrated stats, and we have replacements for him. Does he not understand this?
  12. Yeah, I think I do remember something like that.
  13. omg, I was actually responding to Lee, how embarrassing.
  14. It's weird, I don't have very strong memories of the OMB, maybe I just blocked most of those years out.
  15. If that was true, that would completely mind **** me.
  16. He really did that? Wow, I didn't know he was that creepy.
  17. The real question is if they can make the playoffs. Once you make it, you can go deep.
  18. Might as well not get married if you recognize just how much the system will bone you if you get divorced. Pre-nups aren't necessarily iron clad.
  19. Or, we can just trade Kendrick and play Green there.
  20. Supposedly, SS defense was a strength when he was drafted. I don't know if that has changed.
  21. I think he should be traded because I think he'd be more valuable in a trade than he is to us. He's 30, we have Green, and he's the type of player that gets overvalued because of his batting average and his position. It's a good time to trade him and cash in on his value.
  22. Why should there be a different standard at home plate than at second and third? People normally find plays at the plate exciting regardless of a collision or not, because there's a run a stake. Home plate collisions are actually kind of random when you think about the nature of the game, it really doesn't fit. There's no reason to risk injuries at this point. For people who whine about it pussifying the sport, get real, baseball is a pussy sport. Just look at the amount of physical contact in basketball, hockey, soccer, and football, and baseball can't even compare, so why try? It's different, and that's okay.
