My opinion is Arte didn't want them to trade Raisel but he would be open to paying for him to come back.
Because a trade would have signaled the Angels were giving up and Arte's intellectual and emotional makeup is not conducive to doing this.
 I think we can both agree the Angels could have got a few really nice prospects for Raisel.
Raisel makes $9.1 this year. What would it take to resign him? $14 M per year? 3/42?
Comps are Will Smith at $13 M, Hendriks at $11 M. Kimbrel at $16 M.

I agree Rengifo should be playing, it’s a perfect opportunity.  Hopefully that happens soon, or at least Wong gets a chance.

He was injured his last start before the deadline.  They could have moved him before that game.  
They believed they were still in the race so didn't want  to give up yet.

I agree. Let's see what we have with the younger guys. They have options moving into next year but it's time to see what they have. I am most intrigued by Stefanic.

Yeah, he has really fast hands. It looks like he would benefit from adjusting his setup and moving his hands and the knob of the bat back toward the catcher.

Very cool! I checked out his BR page. He's an Aztec from SDSU. What a great game he has to remember. Maybe it becomes a catalyst for him sticking with the team.

Looks like they are going to give him a hard look at Catcher in the Spring. He's back in AAA starting at catcher instead of being with the Angels and getting some starts at 1B. Could be a numbers thing also with Jo Adell coming up as the 5th OF'er.

Personally I'd like to see Fletcher move to third and have Stefanic play 2B

Read my long post in the Minors thread. The short version: He's already missed enough time in the majors to make 2027 his first possible year of free agency. Unless they want to keep him in the minors until the end of May next year, that won't change to 2028. Given the fact that he has made some adjustments and looks at least close to ready, keeping him in the minors for four more months (Aug-Sept in 2021, Apr-May in 2022) just to get that extra year seems a bit harsh, and may end up causing more harm than good.
