Fake Chow reacted to Pheenom07 in The middle infield, now and in the future
Obvious answer here is Stefanic. Hit the cover off the ball last year and spring this year. If he’s a passable second base I don’t see why he shouldn’t get a shot to stick.
After that I hope Brandon Davis continues his solid play and gets a look later in the year.

Put Adell in right, sit Rojas, bat Jo and Brandon back to back, profit.

I agree. The geriatric genius makes some strange choices.

I think Adell handles right field better than left and Marsh is equally effective in both. Maddon seems to want to force these situations that don't require alterations from players natural talents.

Fake Chow reacted to Blarg in AngelsWin Today: An Optimistic & Disappointing View of the Angels 2022 Club
Bueller got lucky last night on two near misses by Trout to the outfield walls but what went unnoticed was Marsh's at bat that he scorched an opposite field drive to the left field corner that somehow Taylor nabbed on a leaping catch. That ball goes through almost every other time against just about every other left fielder but this time it goes as a box score out.
Marsh showed some major league stones taking the Dodgers best pitcher opposite field against a shift, no intimidation, just saw it and went with the ball. If he can do that against a quality starter like Bueller, the rest of the league may have to think about playing the whole field and screw the shift against this guy.
Adell is going to get his bombs, he is going to scorch some drives and get a lot of attention but I think Marsh is going to cut pitchers to pieces with a more rounded approach of using the pitch location against them. It may take time before he locks in but if Marsh locks in then it will be Adell and Ward looking for playing time over Marsh getting the full time nod.
I am optimistic about Marsh earning a full time position in the outfield.

Fake Chow reacted to Docwaukee in In Defense of Arte Moreno
there are plenty of teams that somehow maintain an at least decent farm system despite winning on a regular and not selling off their more expensive pieces on a regular. There has been a slow burn of ineptitude and lack of commitment to the farm and player development since Arte took over. And it's been pervasive ever since. The Angels have the resources to be quite the opposite. Yet the action has been to clearly put as many of their resources into the major league club and ghost the rest.
The farm has had variable ranks since Arte's tenure. Good when he first came on as a holdover and occasional bumps into the teens due to one or two players like Trout, Ohtani, Adell. But mostly anywhere from poor to scorched earth.
And free agents are expensive relative to an arb or pre arb player on a relative basis in terms of value. But you typically get more production than a waiver wire pickup.
How can the padres afford to have a payroll of 20m more?
If you're caught in between, you still have options. They're not ideal but at some point the commitment to winning has to be real and not just lip service.

The Angels should reconstruct the catchers mitt into the shape of a vagina to ensure that Bauer hits his spots.
