Now that the game is tied I'll give Anderson some credit. Not saying he pitched well or is good but he did shut the door and kept the game where it was at the last 3 innings so the offense could scratch back. I'll take that. Now hopefully they'll get some more and steal this one!

Man don't even bring up that 14 game abomination from last year. Mebbe my lowest point as an Angel fan. And there's been a lot of 'em since 1966.

Good win for the Halos! Moniak is playing like he belongs up in the majors and never wants to sniff Salt Lake again. Gotta love it. Also Bachman looks great tonight. I know it's the Cubs but I'll feel good about these last 2 nights. A year ago at this time we were in the middle of a 14 game losing streak so I'll take this right now lol

So no one on this team has the balls to get a big hit it in a big spot... Bases left loaded then they cough 2 back lol. It's so Angels lol. 

That at bat from Mike shows that the book is out on how to neutralize him. Javier went from 0-2 to 2-2 and immediately a meeting on the mound was called to remind him of how to get Mike out. On the very next pitch is a fastball in the upper strike zone and down he goes. This is the same thing that got him out every year going back even to 2014. Not getting the runner in from 3rd with less than three outs. Hard to complain about wanting to win and not coming through there.

Agree to disagree Jeff. They sold this rule to the fans with the intention to shorten games, during the 2020 pandemic season.
The fans hate it, I am not the only one. Maddon hated it, and I hate it for the same reasons as him. I remember you writing an article about that in spring last year. 
I know they made this permanent, but I honestly hope they tweak it like @secondbase suggested. In Hockey, they go to a shootout once the first OT period is up, during the regular season....so give us the 10th and 11th, and then in the 12th, load the bases for all I care. 
 

For any games tied going into the 9th, just replace the umps with Super Bowl refs.  They know how to prevent overtime in the first place.

Although I fully realize the players voted for this too as part of the Joint Committee, it seems Manfred pretty much remains undefeated at pissing the majority of the fans right before Spring Training. What a disgrace he's been to baseball. 

As crappy of a way to determine a winner a shoot out is, at least it’s exciting. There is nothing exciting about a ghost runner.

This! I think one of my least favorite things about this runner on 2nd is to me it doesn't have the same feel when your team wins the game to me. If you start the 12th inning with a leadoff walk with normal baseball, then a shot in the gap to score the runner from 1st to walkoff, it was exhilarating as a fan. Now, road team gets scoreless top half of the frame and then the first pitch home team hits a bloop single to win the game and it just feels... meh to me. Anticlimactic. I feel as fans we're being deprived of great moments like the Eckstein hit above or the Pujols 19th inning homerun. Are those games fun to sit through? Not all the time I'll admit. But as a baseball lover it was great to be at those games or have them in the history. I wouldn't have totally hated if they would have started doing this in the 13th inning as a compromise, but as baseball season approaches and I'm getting back on this board thought I would reflect to other baseball fans about this today.

I was at the 14 inning game in which David Eckstein hit a walk off grand slam. Best ending to any game I've ever attended.

One of the biggest issues in '22 was position player depth. Perry Minasian said that his goal this offseason was to correct that issue & so far he's done a great job adding Urshela, Drury & Renfroe. Add in Tyler Anderson & Carlos Estevez & it has been a solid offseason thus far.

Good signing for when Trout and Ohtani get season ending injuries in the WBC. 

I watch quite a few Rockies games here in CO and this is a solid pickup for the Angels. He's a good arm and has (knock on wood) been pretty durable from what I remember. In the mini 60 game 2020 season Bud Black pretty much used him everyday. But I'm a fan of this signing. Good arm for the late innings.

OMFG this is what the 5th time in the last 7 years they've opened in Oakland? Angels were supposed to open this year in that hellhole too I think if it wasn't for the lockout. Ridiculous.
