  1. yeah i have no idea what you're trying to say with these posts -- you are all over the place. Just a hot mess. I should have stayed with my initial thought when reading the posts and just ignored. Stupid me. BTW, Trading Trout means we suck WAAAAAAY more than we do right now and will continue to do so for at least a couple years more. Maybe 3-5 years down the road, with a Trout trade, you can potentially have a turn around with those assets received in a Trout trade. But that's hoping/dreaming on potential only. Now i'm even more annoyed at myself for wasting some additional minutes of my time on this pointless topic.
  2. It’s too late with trading Trout. He’s an Angel icon mainstay now regardless of team/player performance. Only way you trade him is if he demands it. If you want to truly rebuild, then Rendon is the one you trade.
  3. Marsh: i was more impressed with the single than his HR. Great adjustment and bat control. That kind of AB shows me he'll be successful at the next level....unlike a hacker. I hope Marsh has more than one close buddy because they might not be working in the same place -- both in the short & long-term.
  4. This all goes back to a pathetically weak farm system and lack of pitcher development by the Organization. RPs are built from within the bottom up. An occasional outside piece can work out and be added. But trying to build a whole relief staff from outside is a receipt for disaster -- especially doing so year after year. The Angels won't have a consistent RP staff until they can be competent with their farm system in drafting (& signing int'l Ps) and developing those pitchers.
  5. Two best parts of the year for Angel baseball fans: draft and the off-season
  6. Scored 1 run yesterday from Ward's solo HR. It can't get much worse than that. Well, technically it can get one run less....but either way a loss. This is one of those games we end up scoring 8 runs.....incoming 9-8 loss.
  7. Actually, in reading through this from the OP on....i was pleasantly surprised to read so much skepticism and negativity to the signing at the time. Well done for the most part AW. Of course the ever optimistic Mr. positivity himself Chuck chimed in to offset some of the negativity lol (specifically about the warning track power). No diss to you Chuck -- i was once that way before time/age made me bitter (hahaha) about the Angels.
  8. I don't mind the fun and bravado -- it's needed in baseball. But dude needs to back it up. If you got -- flaunt it! It seems way too early in his career and (lack of) success to be doing this so much. But ok....it's him. Now go back it up. Nothing worse though than guys celebrating without results that back it up. It's like the football defender celebrating wildly making a tackle or WR/RB wild TD celebration while his team is losing 31-7. BTW i can't wait for some crusty, old-school pitcher to get butt hurt in the bigs over Adell's HR strut....and the firestorm that ensues.
  9. This organization is run so poorly. Embarrassingly bad. But at least they’ve been consistent.
  10. Do our pitchers understand the concept of throwing strikes? Likes the basically the goal and the whole point.
  11. This is one of the big reasons baseball annoys me and making me less of a fan overall of the product
  12. Trout is friends with the guy and been his teammate for years. What do you expect Trout to say: "Albert had an amazing HOF career, but he's sucked the past 5 years. Just look at his negative WAR. We are better without him. " No. He's being respectful. I'm sure he understands that Ohtani/Walsh are better and we need more roster flexibility on the bench than an old guy you can only play 1B. If he doesn't -- that's his fault...not the Angels FO fault.
  13. Totally agree. That's the whole point of having a good eye -- making the pitcher have to throw a potentially hittable strike. Not freaking take a walk (unless you're a weak, slap-hitting speedster). Even at 3-0, if that FB is in your condensed hot zone -- swing away Merrill! It's like getting 11 on blackjack or the dealer with a 6 showing -- doubling down on it. The odds have moved to you and that's when you need to try to take advantage.
  14. Nothing is more frustrating to me baseball wise than a guy who has a hitters count (say 2-0) and swings at a pitcher's pitch on the corner -- and grounds out / pops up. Take the pitch as a strike and your 2-1 count dude. Limit your swing to your prime zone...otherwise more onto the next pitch. You have the count your way. It's not that difficult. But some guys just can't ever learn and get greedy.
  15. Bundy extend if you can. Keep Trout, Walsh, Ohtani and whatever low cost rookies / prospects. Otherwise...whatever...
  16. Ironically, it's out pitchers that could bring in some good returns if the Angels have to sell. If we can't sign them to extensions, we have some valuable pieces for team looking for pitching rentals: Bundy, Heaney, Q (lol, j/k), Cobb and Raisel Iglesias. Preferably, imo, we extend Bundy. Then again, this team and organization is miles away and a complete mess up & down. Beyond true homer fans, does 2022+ look to be any different? There's so many holes to fill for 2022...on a team that currently sucks. It's not like there's a ton of sure-fire prospects waiting to hit the grown running either. A complete tear down makes more sense than anything else. Every year i hear the same from most on AW that things will be different. Nope. The future doesn't look that much better than the current/past. They need to burn it down and rebuild...slash-and-burn.
  17. It's more like watching paint peel off your wall.
  18. If anything, Trout should be happy about this -- makes the team better. If i were him, i'd be pissed every time AP was entered in the lineup the past few years.
  19. This ends what was the worst Angels signing in history -- which is saying ALOT
