I can see the logic in making one of those trades, but I don't see the logic in making both of those trades. The idea behind trading one of Marsh/Adell is you may only have room for 1. However, trading both of them would then leave you 1 outfielder short.

Based on reading the tea leaves, I think we are starting to get a pretty good idea of who the Angels minor league teams will be going forward. Under MLB’s new format, there will only be 120 minor league teams. This will be 4 teams for all 30 franchises at AAA, AA, High-A, and Low-A.
It seems like the Angels will retain having the Salt Lake Bees as their AAA affiliate and the Rocket City Trash Pandas as their AA affiliate.
Their current High-A team, the Inland Empire 66ers, will likely become their Low-A team. This is because MLB is switching the California League (which the 66ers are part of) to the Low-A level.
Their current Low-A team, the Burlington Bees, will likely be contracted. This means that the Angels will need likely need a new Low-A team. Rumor has it that the Northwest League will switch from the Rookie Level to the High-A level. If this is the case, I’d imagine that the 8 west teams (ARI/COL/LAA/LAD/OAK/SD/SF/SEA) will align with the 8 teams in the Northwest League (Boise/Eugene/Everett/Hillsboro/Salem-Keizer/Spokane/Tri-City/Vancouver). ARI is already with Hillsboro, COL is already with Boise, LAD will be with Spokane, SD is already with Tri-City, SF is already with Salem-Keizer, and SEA is already with Everett. That would leave two teams- Eugene and Vancouver- for two teams, the Angels and A’s. That means that the Angels High-A team will likely be either Eugene or Vancouver.

TLDR: This is all just an educated guess, but rumors are starting to seep out, and it seems like the Angels MiLB affiliates will be:
    AAA: Salt Lake Bees.
    AA: Rocket City Trash Pandas
High-A: Eugene Emeralds OR Vancouver Canadians.
    Low-A: Inland Empire 66ers.

I'm not that keen on signing him. It seemed like an Angels type move, which is why I predicted it, and they apparently already have interest in him.

Not sure about trades and waiver closings, but I would expect him to be aggressive and advantageous on non-tendered players like Carlos Rodon.

I'm hoping that he's leaving the organization via trade and the Angels can get something for him, but I can see how he'd have little to no value.

Well.... Shorter stature pitchers always have a harder time staying in the rotation. Suarez has always been a high strikeout pitcher, and before the velo drop last year he'd been steadily climbing into the mid 90's.
With the development of guys like Rodriguez and Detmers, the acquisition of Naughton, I think the logical conclusion would be Suarez moving to the bullpen.
The big question I'd have is if he can get righties out. Because lefty specialists seem to be getting phased out of the majors.

I have to imagine this will also coincide with a smaller draft.  Since there will be less drafted players, a number of them will start off with the AZL team, and some of the more advanced ones will probably just start off at low-A.

I have to imagine that Key's Twitter/social media comments got some attention from the organization.
A number of fans were livid at him, and criticizing your fanbase isn't a good look, regardless of whether it's deserved or not (and in this case, I don't think it's deserved). Over 3 million Angels fans have showed up to the stadium to support the team for the past 17 straight seasons before 2020. Even when they were terrible from 2016-2019. Yet he still goes on social media and trashes the team's fans? He ended up deleting his twitter account, and I wonder if the Angels had input in that.

I'm surprised Noe Ramirez wasn't listed as a candidate, especially since Anderson and Middleton were listed. Yes, Ramirez has been better than them, but he's also out of options and will be making more than either of them.
I'm most interested in the decision of whether or not they tender Andriese a contract. He's projected to make a decent amount, which may be why they would move on from him, but he seemed to be one of Joe Maddon's most trusted relievers at the end of the season and he had a 2.12 ERA in 17 innings last season once he was exclusively pitching in short stints out of the bullpen.

BTH reacted to Warfarin in Minasian: "We have to play quality defense."
I'm a bit doubtful he'd get Flowers.  It says something to me that the Braves started d'Arnoud in 7 consecutive (!) games in the NLCS.  Sure, he was good, but even in the playoffs, you'd think they would have given 1 start to a backup catcher when faced with no days off.
Given the emphasis on catching, maybe Minasian will look to make a trade for another team's catching prospect and try to build our catching pipeline, as we really have no catching prospects to speak of.

I've been thinking there's a good chance we will see Tyler Flowers.

If I were to predict, right now, a handful of names I think the Angels acquire this winter...it would be Wong, Flowers, Odorizzi, Foltynewicz, and Melancon or Greene.

Three with Atlanta ties and one pitcher with Maddon ties. Could apply to Archer or Quintana as well.

While defensive rankings are nice, I think a lot of them are a bit flawed in terms of grading.  That said, I'm sure teams have their own proprietary defensive grading systems that we aren't privy to that probably grades them better than the tools we fans have access to.
I do suspect we'll see Minasian utilize the depressed free agency market to shore up areas fairly cheaply - 2B, corner OF are definitely two spots I can see him attacking, as well as possibly a backup C and for sure relief pitching.
Given that we have quite a few RHH, someone like Kolton Wong definitely makes sense.  I know @rafibombmentoned we signed his brother.  Actually, one of the hallmarks of teams iike the Braves, Dodgers, Rays, etc, is that they seemingly find guys who are super cheap and end up playing well.  So it wouldn't surprise me if Kean Wong actually ends up being a good pickup and ends up playing well.  Or if not him, someone else similar to that.
Regardless, I'm eager to see what he does.  He'll start building out his front office in the upcoming weeks, as he also starts to make some moves to fill out the team.  He's getting a late start compared to his colleagues, but all that said, given that this market is projected to be a bad one for players, he likely has a lot of time to catch up, as the bulk of the moves will probably come in January / February.

Given the way Maddon utilized him towards the end of the season, I am inclined to think Maddon wants Andriese to stay, since he sorta seemed to be the #3 option after Mayers and Pena.  His projected salary is rather modest, so I think he is tendered a contract.
For Anderson and Middleton, their projected contracts are so low that I would assume they stay, too.  Robles seems assuredly to be non-tendered, and Noe might be a decent bet, given his lack of options (i.e., less flexibility).

If the Angels are going to use some of their money to get a middle infielder, they need to get someone that is proven and not use it on an unknown commodity.
Kim could be good, but he could also flop. At that point, you might as well go with Barreto/Jones/Rengifo and use the money towards pitching since all those guys have the same boom/bust potential that Kim has.

BTH reacted to GA16 in Did anyone hear Arte Moreno talking on AM830?
I listened to the interview and there were a few good takeaways.
Rodger asked if he would be comfortable with Fletcher as the SS next year, Arte said yes but he also said he is a good 2B...
I am paraphrasing but Arte said the pandemic will play a role in how much he spends in FA. He mentioned that they only hit about 37% of their projected revenue this year. He alluded to the fact that the amount of spending will be dictated on if we have fans in the stands next year and play a full season. He mentioned MLB will give some indication on how the season will play out soon.
Talking about the different rules we had this year he said he liked the expanded playoffs and the 7 inning double header games.
He said that they have not negotiated with FA's yet and are waiting until the GM is in place.
Arte sated they believe they have a good team and other than pitching they are looking for a Catcher, MI, and RF.
In regard to the GM search Arte said they are looking to move away from an analytical driven process and are looking for a more player development process.
He said the last few years, the analytic process has been trying to force players into roles that didn't work (specifically trying to get pitcher to throw with more spin) for them which gave negative results.
Lodge pointedly asked if the new GM will be given the "keys to the franchise" to make the decisions. Arte said no they won't be given the keys and that "the last few times they did that it did not work out".
The way Arte talked about the next GM it sounded like they have already picked their guy.
Throughout the interview he kept mentioning that he wants to build a team for Trout and Rendon to win with. He understands how important it is.
