If Bauer had signed with the Angels, I'd imagine he'd end up being a bust.

Fowler is essentially a stop gap until Adell is ready and Fowler can then become the 4th outfielder.
Honestly, if the Angels are going to take a step forward this year, they need Adell to perform like the player he was projected to before he fell on his face in 2020. So if Fowler ends up starting in RF all season because Adell was bad again or still isn't ready, they are sunk anyway.

The funny thing is fans have been saying Arte needs to let the front office staff make the baseball decisions and then complain when they do.

I think what that shows is that the Angels REALLY need to add more to the bullpen. If they have a good offense and bullpen, they can get by with a mediocre rotation.

According to Seattle beat reporters, sources have told them that ownership has severely limited Dipoto's budget this offseason. So unless their ownership has a dramatic shift, I doubt it.

I'd think Barreto has the leg up Rengifo for the utility job since Barreto is out of options.
I think they really could go a number of ways for the 4th OF'er. Way too early to predict it, as they have lots of options. Such as moving Walsh or Fletcher to RF at times.
Same thing with the bullpen. Too early, and I'd also hope they make an addition or two.
If Thaiss hits, they'll find a place for him. Either at 1B with Walsh in RF or at 2B or LF.

I think them being mentioned as in on Hand, Soria, and Odorizzi is a sign they are at least still looking. It’s not like the Cobb move takes them out of that. If Perry is content with “decent”, by his own words, he will be asked about that all year. It may have been a poor word choice, but he is now accountable (if they do nothing) to tell the writers and fans that only decent pitching, with Trout and Rendon on your team, is ok.

NYY has a ton of injury questions with Severino, Kluber, and Taillon all coming back from injuries and Severino not starting the season on time.
Outside of Ryu, TOR's rotation isn't that scary unless Pearson puts it all together.
Outside of Glasnow, TB's rotation isn't that scary unless Patino puts it all together or Archer rebounds to his Tampa-level.
MIN is good, but if Maeda isn't as good as he was in 2020, their rotation is less scary.
CWS and CLE are obviously very good.
BOS also has a ton of injury questions with their rotation, and Sale isn't even going to start the season on time.
Montas was bad last season and Puk has major injury issues.
HOU is good, but they could face regression from their young guys, Greinke is getting old, and McCullers had injury risk.
