Mark PT reacted to Lou in What is the single most impressive play/hit you've seen in person?
Not exactly sure, but I think it was a game in 2018. We were up by 4 runs and Cam Bedrosian came in and didn't walk the leadoff batter.
I'm pretty sure I still have the ticket stub somewhere.

Mark PT got a reaction from Angel Oracle in The Doug Eddings Game
Yes, all you said was correct. Here is what I mean. If an umpire changes his mechanic, he is wrong and being confusing. Two, if he verbalized, like you said you always do (which is what an umpire should do, then he is also wrong. But the fist pump has been used by many umpires in the past. There is no convention in the rule book or umpires manual (unless the changed it do to this type of ambiguity since the early 2000s) regarding specific mechanics for strike (balls were supposed to be verbalized but often were just silent). My argument has always been that unless he vocalized the catcher should have tagged the bat/runner. But, again, yes if he changed his mechanic, he screwed up.

Mark PT got a reaction from Angel Oracle in AL West Assessment for '21
Problem is that there is not one Angels pitcher that has been consistent for 2 or more years in a row, as most said.

Mark PT got a reaction from mtangelsfan in Four MLB players who could request a trade, including Mike Trout and a forgotten Yankees player
What would you classify as being bothered by losing. Throwing his glove, breaking his bat, cursing during interviews? There is no universal way to deal with losing. But I will say that:
Losing is a disease... as contagious as polio
Losing is a disease... as contagious as syphilis
Losing is a disease... as contagious as bubonic plague
Attacking one... but infecting all
But curable!
So leave Trout alone!

Mark PT got a reaction from failos in OC Register: MLB renews 7-inning doubleheaders, runners on second in extras
This is ridiculous. Home team has a major advantage. They know how aggressive to be based on the visitors results.

Exactly, screw it just have the home team named the winner if tied.

Mark PT reacted to tdawg87 in OC Register: Andrelton Simmons opens up about depression and thoughts of suicide
I don't agree with this take, at all.
This forum has a thing for "being right". In cases like, say, a trade working out that we all hated when it happened, it's fine. It's lighthearted fun.
In this case? How about we don't do that. It looked bad when it happened, and while no one considered it to be something like this...no one considered it. Patting yourself on the back because you didn't say something you now regret is just dumb (not saying this is what you are doing, Stradling). We all say incredibly stupid shit here. How many of us called Skaggs a pussy? Or hell, how many of you old guys ragged on Donnie Moore?
How about we all just try a little harder to understand that these players are human beings? No one should have to "own" anything because they said something then that now looks bad. No one expected something like this. It's a lesson for everyone, not just a "I agree" jerkfest.

Yeah, some of y'all are strange. Keeping score on something like this.
I enjoyed watching Simmons play. I understand letting him go, though.

If he would have never shared his political views he would have been elected into the Hall the first year he was eligible. You have to be in complete denial not to believe that.

I don’t agree with anything Shilling stands for but this is an obvious witch hunt. It’s pretty embarrassing to be honest.
Schilling is a hall of fame pitcher. Period.

Based on what Schilling has done on the baseball field, especially in the postseason he should be a Hall of Famer yesterday.
It's too bad that exercising first amendment rights has any bearing on getting selected to Major League Baseball's Hall of Fame.
The man didn't cheat like Bonds, A-Rod and Clemens. He should be in there based on his merits at his profession.
It's stupid.
