  1. I am more inline with your opinion on this guy. At the very first look, he looks good. Better than average velocity and a hard curve. But after the first few pitches, its easy to see that he has absolutely no control over either pitch. Also, neither pitch compliments the other. They look completely different and are easy for batters to identify.
  2. Totally dirty. As you said the back half of the plate was wide open by design. It was intentional contact and violent contact to the head. Should have been ejected and should be suspended. Regardless of whether the contact to the head was intentional or not, it still was made. If they are serious about protecting players and their financial asses, they should suspend him to the max.
  3. He will. The 8-10 week prognosis means that it is a non-displaced fracture. These usually heal without complication. Displaced would require surgery and ORIF. This would have sucked.
  4. Anyone that says you did not know him therefore you cant be sad is a jack ass. We should all be sad anyone dies. That's being a good human.
  5. Very good point. Don't know if I would be able to function for the rest of the season.
  6. Trade him to the A's. Their creative use of drugs might be able to resurrect his career.
  7. Before we consider expansion, can we prove that we can field an, at least, decent pitching staff? Until then, I am going to assume there is not enough talent out there to keep expanding.
  8. How do you take this drug? Orally or a shot in the A's
  9. Whats funny is that great A's team of the 1980s was full of drug use. Guess things have not changed.
  10. His dad would have ripped it over the wall.
  11. Joe Sidal is stupid. A balk is a MOVE to deceive. Not moving can not be a balk.
  12. That's that Cap'n of Crunch. We need the Cap'n of Clout or the Cap'n of Crash
  13. Trout was 4-5 last night and is back to .300 BA. What do we do with this thread now?
  14. No dork. This is what life is like outside the NL West. This is why you lose in the WS every year
  15. I think it either an injury he is not forthcoming about or just unable to adjust. Pitchers will constantly adjust and hitters must respond.
  16. Or a more accurate philosophical question would be: if a ball traveled above the knees, between the letters, over the plate, and into the catcher's glove, would Angel Hernandez still call it a strike?
  17. I think your right but I also think the pitcher needs to be close to ready to be a major leaguer not 2-3 years away.
  18. wait look out behind you, a guy with a knife and a Dodger hat!!!!!!
  19. DIdnt they say the same about Ted Williams. I think the story was that he could read a word printed on a thrown ball. Not sure that is true but it is what I've heard.
  20. Dont rush him back. He has to have full strength during both static exercise and plyometric and agility. If he is a little deficient, he will tear his Achilles.
  21. And like Weaver, he is able to hit his spots with all his pitches. This is the key that guys like Scaggs and Heaney cant do with consistency.
  22. Hopefully they have exorcised all the UCL injury demons out of the club house.
